Thanx, Mikers, it's nice to see someone provide some perspective...I feel somewhat the same as what you expressed about Carter. At the same time, I agree with Jongs, good man, weak President.

Oh crap ...you forgot you're not supposed to ever agree with me on anything.
I was only 23 when Carter was in office and I wasn't much concerned with politics, etc .... but I do remember getting 14% on my bank cds. We were saving up for a house back then, and by the time we could afford one, mortgage rates had dropped back down to Earth. So in that regard, Carter helped me save, and then he helped me buy.
