Carter was president before I was old enough to talk. I never talked shit about him. I really don't know much to say about him. Thanks for the positive points.
I may sound like an ass when I say I won't change my mind about him because of the Panama Canal thing... but anyone who has known me for a while knows that money is pretty much God for me. I know down to the penny what I've spent on everything for the last 5 years and have notebooks to document it before I upgraded and programmed a few Excel spreadsheets to do a lot of the heavy lifting.
I don't know what evil might have come had he not been president.
All I know is that that one single act undermined the will of the citizens. Not only that, but it seems that America has actually become quite good at looking sexy while taking that bent over "do me" pose.
I didn't live through Carter, but I do know how to read and occasionally do.
People didn't hate Carter because he had a kind heart. People hated Carter because his kind heart directly stole out of their wallets. It was a rudimentary system that his formers benifited from, but now he was making it even better.
People hate Carter because nearly every single EXPENSIVE "relief" program payed with taxpayer dollars can be traced back to HIS Presidential influence.
