Your dismissal, out of hand, of a well known journalist and his view on the state of cable news today is laughable.

Fact is, you HAVE no reply, except mindless babble.

Stop being such a child and just accept reality.

You have a well established and respected N.E. journalist/ columnist in Joe Klein saying FOX News is basically what news should be.

YOU admit you've never watched it.

Brit Hume, Chris Wallace, Catherine Herridge, Bret Baier... are simply among the best in the business, bar none.

Unfortunately for FOX, they also give us Geraldo, Sean, Bill and that lame Fox and Friends, but I guess they'd say their programming has something for everyone.

So you'll take the word of a NY liberal journalist now if it corroborates - agrees with - your point?

That's like the LA NAACP taking Donald Sterling's money.

It's not 'taking his word', it's simply relaying the guys opinion. Are y'all really that bent over this that you can't grasp the basic difference?

CNN has gotten more like a tabloid looking for the next sensational story. They have slid a long way. It does suck now. Fox cable news is worse thought because it lies. It is nothing more than a propaganda machine for the far right and the one percent. I stopped watching years ago because I saw it first hand over and over again. They are no different than Bagdad Bob for those of you who remember him.

Fox does this by firing up those who hate and anti government crusaders who want to destroy the credibility of the government. You know, the ones that hate all Americans who don't look and think like them. You know, the ones that hate people on government assistance although they use it themselves in one form or another. You know, the ones who believe most of the budget goes to support lazy people even though it doesn't compare to the cost of corporate welfare. You know, the ones that hate so much they vote against their own best interests. Wake up people.

For those of you who doubt the site at the end of the link, you can find an article about this same research at Forbes Magazine.

Isn't it funny it was the south that believed in social programs until they were extended to everyone? You know, when President Johnson pushed through the voting rights act in 1965. You know, those still upset about the equal rights amendment that was revisited in the 70's.

YOU KNOW.

92nd Street Y (92Y) is a multifaceted cultural institution and community center located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City, USA, at the corner of E. 92nd Street and Lexington Avenue. Its full name is 92nd Street Young Men's and Young Women's Hebrew Association (YM-YWHA). It is not part of the YMCA.

Professional NY Jews. This is hardly a demographic which would routinely watch FOX. In fact, you can hear the audible gasp in the audience when Klein flatly states that Bret Baier @ 6 is simply the best place to get the news.

He's not talking about the talk shows, like O'Reilly or Hannity.

But as for the US govt ? It does a fine job discrediting itself w/ out anyone's help.

Hey AURAPTER, we live in a world of perceptions and yours are a little off kilter. Here is a link that will show you how that works.

http://www.thedailyzen.org/2013/08/david-foster-wallace-this-is-water.
html

There are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says "Morning, boys. How's the water?" And the two young fish swim on for a bit, and then eventually one of them looks over at the other and goes "What the hell is water?"

Scientific American editor goes on Fox, but asked not to mention climate change

Quote:

Scientific American editor Michael Moyer was invited to appear on Fox News to discuss what glorious future science might bring us in the next 50 years. No problem, with one major caveat.

"About the only interesting thing that the scientific community is sure will happen in the next 50 years is that climate change is going to get worse, and that we’re going to have to deal with the impacts. So I put that as one of my talking points.

I understood that there was little chance the topic would make it into the show, but I’m not going to self-censor myself from the get-go. I also included as talking points some topics that we have recently covered in the magazine: robot drivers, gene therapy and rocket technology. The Fox producer came back and very politely and matter-of-factly said that we would have to replace the climate change item."

Well, sure. Talk about robot housewives or dinners that cook themselves—stuff that the Fox News audience can relate to. Worldwide weather changes that are going to displace millions of people? Pfft. Get to the robots.
He tweeted some of his experiences there, including the Fox make-up artist who informed him that the missing Malaysia Airlines jet was "on a military base somewhere." "Kinda feel like I should take a shower," he tweeted afterwards.

Which is all fine; you appear on Fox and Friends, you pretty much know what you're in for, and in specific you ought to know by now that you are there to appeal to Fox's dumbest viewers on Fox's singular dumbest show.

Simply amazing.

My link has everything to do with the part of the topic I am addressing. Go back to what I have contributed to the conversation. There are only three things I have commented on. CNN as a whole, Fox cable news as a whole and your perceptions of what the truth is on there reporting.

After you remove CNN because we agree about that program sucking, you are left with only Fox news and your perceptions that I speak of. Look at what I have said on that and you will see I slandered no one. To slander means to lie about something or someone. In this response to you I mention Joe Kline for the first time so there is no slander there. What I have said is Fox lies and keeps people misinformed through misdirection. It is only slander if that is untrue. It is not. I like an honest discussion between people with different views on things. Sometimes I find out I am wrong. That is not what Fox is about. What they are doing is saying hey look over hear and listen to our lies, while the people who pull their strings push there own agenda. An agenda that severs only a few and usually hurts the masses.

In looking at your other posts on Global Warming. I see you don't have a clue. This doesn't mean you are a bad person, just Fox news misinformed.

Bye the way, what is up with all the Catholic and Jew talk. The correct term is Jewish. If you change your sentence structure you can use the term in it's proper form. I can go back and find where you mention Jews out or nowhere earlier if you like. Careful we are beginning to see your true self. As I said, we live in a world of perceptions and your false perception of me is I am religious. I am not. I believe in science. Yet see how you applied a label to me without having a clue. My fault. You see I believe since you can name all the players on a particular channel, From when they take to the air in the morning to when they take to the air the next morning, that you are very familiar with the franchise. You know, from watching it. That is a great gift you have to be able to do that while not watching the programing.

I have to admit I must have miss understood what you were implying when you started this thread of Fox News haters-Suck It! I assumed that meant you were championing Fox. Why would I think that you disliked CNN and you preferred Fox because of that? My bad.

I am ashamed of myself. Imagine me thinking you watched Fox after only a few dozen posts implied so and by my assuming by you starting this thread that you did. It appeared to me you were singing there praise throughout.

My perceptions must be a little off kilter.

This has been fun but it is time to let it go. Nice bantering with you.

Unfortunately for FOX, they also give us Geraldo, Sean, Bill and that lame Fox and Friends, but I guess they'd say their programming has something for everyone.

Yeah, I know the line up. What of it ? I never said I DIDN'T watch, EVER. I just said I rarely do. Unlike Mr. Klein, who sounds like he makes it part of his daily routine, I only catch it once in a while.

Hey, I grew up in Atlanta, the home of CNN. I use to be, for many many years, a true news junkie. Read the paper, watched the news, listened on the radio... I couldn't get enough information.

I still do have an interest, but I'm no where near as addicted to what's being shoveled out to us as I use to be.

I have never motioned god. It makes it easy for you to deny my and others logic as faith based and therefore not accurate.

Your views on AGW are based on your perceptions which I remind you are a little off Kilter.

Not only are you wrong in my usage, you're reading WAY too much into my EXAMPLE. Because that's all it was. I was comparing religion, religious belief with AGW.

You see, I am NOT a 'believer', in any super natural deity. Not God™, not Allah, not Zeus or even Ra. ( Well, Poseiden is real, but it's not like I worship him all that much anyways. )

Point is, I'm an Atheist. Capital A. So, before you go off and wrongly assume ( again ) that I'm some sort of religious nut job, and don't buy into that scientific stuff, because it ain't in the Bible, guess again.

Thing is, the only religion I ascribed for you is possibly your belief in AGW. Some view it as a religion, while others simply view it as science. If you're the latter, then so be it.

Hope that clears things up for ya.

See, here's what you do, JSF: when you hear Left or Right tired old buzzwords, you need to examine the presentation for bias. Chances are there will be some. When there's more than just some, chances are it's a FOS presentation. That can be determined by separating out the facts for accuracy. Then you can decide what's reasonable from what's slanted ridiculously.
But this all depends on your definition of fact.
Mine is something like this: something that truly exists or happens/ something that has actual existence/ a true piece of information.
You and Rappy's seem to be more like this: something that I believe exists or happens/ something that has perceived existence/ a comfortable piece of information.

And there's the rub...

Wow, you didn't read what I posted at all or just a selected sentence or two. That is the only way you could have taken so much of what I said out of context. You are so far off the mark I am not going to go into it with you. Either you didn't read it, or you do not possess more than an elementary level comprehension on what you do read.

That said I will suggest to you because I think you would like the movie. If you have Netflix, Heaven Know Mr. Allison is available.

like I said, Pot meet kettle.
If you believe something that is proven to be false, then you conclude it is true and has happened. When we note a known falsehood as a lie, you think that means we believe in it, because you cannot believe in happenings in the real world, or that we "perceive" a truth to be a truth, which you refuse to investigate or believe.

As for THIS post...

No. I've not seen it. Seen a few, but not that one. Netflix ? I'll check it out and might add it to my watch list.
