Dope. It's not about left or right. It's about reality, and as Kirk said, it probably lies somewhere in between.

But you apparently think it's Left Vs. Right, as in "LOL, an ultra right wing hate fest site? Really?"

Don't you understand that Left and Right are just two arms of the same monster? That they both want you to think as they think and do as they do?

Agreed, but I can't believe that anyone in their right mind would point the finger at Obama while it's clear the house chose to shut down. It's like shooting the tires of a Greyhound bus doing 50 and then blaming the driver for running over people.

I don't know who decides what stays open and what closes when there's a government shutdown, but aside from politics, it seems logical that tourist attractions wouldn't be high on the "necessary" list. Unfortunately a LOT of people are getting caught in the middle, which is sad.

A truth I think everyone acknowledges on some level... But still have preconceived notions based on where they get their information from and so end up being more one side than the other. Neither side is able to understand where the other is coming from, and sometimes not even people on their OWN side, so all they can do is yell across the gap, and the echo is too loud to hear the response.

Tribalism is a creeping attitude, don't know you're in the grips of it until you've broken a keyboard and started a flame war.

As for who's to blame, it depends on your point of view and your opinion about certain issues. Ultimately the politicians are simply trying to keep their jobs on BOTH sides - it just so happens that those jobs kinda involve massive amounts of shitheadery as standard operating procedure. And they always end up taking a dump on the public in favour of whoever's got money.

Which is why, of course, both sides would rather play the blame game instead of FIXING THE PROBLEM. Because they could lose supporters which means a loss of cashflow. Someone might have to admit they don't crap roses. Oh no that election cycle! Get those spin wheels a-spinnin'!

Seriously, it doesn't matter who started what unless they're all five-year-olds on a school playground... Or rather, they think WE are.

This pretty much sums it up.

Imagine, if you will, a metaphorical and physical intersection of the National Mall and Wall Street. Then apply the following concepts lavishly, minus any misspellings.

With maybe a little "whorehouse networks" and "I'm mad as hell and I'm not gonna take it anymore."

Then top it off with a smidgen of corrupt conspiracy and inept bullshit.

And that's basically the state of our nation and has been for longer than I've been alive. No wonder no one wants to take credit for all the inspiring workings of government and the economy - one side digs a hole, the other side pisses in it, then they fight over the NEXT one. Thus, MY attitude. Briefing concluded. Please continue.

" It's like shooting the tires of a Greyhound bus doing 50 and then blaming the driver for running over people."

Amen, Shiny!

I disagree that "Neither side is able to understand where the other is coming from"--the Tea Partiers who shut down the government were about as clear as it's possible to be: "Defund or delay Obamacare or we'll shut down the government". Everyone understood that meant they wouldn't vote for a budget, which is precisely what they did, and the government shut down. Simple as that, if we take them at their word.

Sure, Obamacare wasn't the actual reason, they just started coming up with that recently and I've detailed step by step how the budget didn't get passed, but I think their--what, 44 votes to kill it?--made their position perfectly clear.

On the other hand, unquestionably "it just so happens that those jobs kinda involve massive amounts of shitheadery as standard operating procedure. And they always end up taking a dump on the public in favour of whoever's got money". On BOTH sides, I fully agree. Problem is when you get enough of this type in office who are quite willing to REALLY shit on the public, it starts becoming really bad, as opposed to just "bad".

Wanna point me to a place that says Obama has made no serious mistakes during his Presidency? Then you'll hear me say "LOL, an ultra left wing kiss-up site? Really?"

When someone quotes Breitbart, or InfoWars, or FauxNews, they are simply snarking, and can have no expectations of being taken seriously. Either that, or they have to accept ThinkProgress, MSNBC, Rightwingwatch, Crooks and Liars, The Young Turks and such sites as equally valid, which they never do. I try to avoid obviously partisan sites for my information, because I know places such as those listed above OBVIOUSLY slant things. Given that Rap and others have dismissed many, many sites which aren't "left-leaning", to put up Breitbart is nothing but a joke.

Chris doesn't have to dismiss that transparently lying article from Breitbart; I debunked it in several different places, specifically, with it's very own quotes.

And since you've never cited a partisan, slanted, left-wing site as the basis for one of your posts...

Sad that you can't realize that you're playing the same game - just from the other side.
