I'd actually agree with that to a degree. That being said, blanket bans prevent women from having life saving terminations, or from being able to make decisions when severe abnormalities exist. Later term abortions should be made case by case by doctors and the mother.
Where you get blanket bans, in places like Ireland, you see women dying or having to travel while very ill because the ethos is fetuses life overrules mothers life. You don't want it to get like that in the US
Right there - THAT is the point at which the unborn fetus has more rights in the eyes of some than the living woman. When the state mandates no exceptions for rape, incest, or life of the mother, it makes a conscious decision to take rights away from a woman and give them to the fetus.
I find it increasingly odd that our so-called "libertarians" fall so predictably on the side of those states on this issue.

Your point is moot. As you say, this is one person, an outlier, an anomaly.
