New Poll Shows Armed Rebellion Supported By 44% Of Republicans

(Poll at http://publicmind.fdu.edu/2013/guncontrol/]) This goes to show that the sensationalistic endorsement of fringe conspiracy theories that are driven forward in the name of freedom and small government by the conservative right are starting to take hold. The history of politics has shown us time and time again that the words that win vocabulary dominance can end up influencing or deciding which way public support goes — and the Republican side of things has proven itself to be quite effective of making use of fear as a motivator, especially through their propaganda wing, Fox News.

Republican Congressman Introduces Bill To Require Political Approval Of Scientific Papers

Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX) is preparing legislation that would disrupt peer review at the National Science Foundation (NSF). A draft of the bill—which is called the "High Quality Research Act" (HQRA)—leaked onto the web this week. It includes a new set of criteria for NSF projects.

The bill says that any research done using federal funds (which is the majority of research done in the United States) must have its results and finding approved by the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the House of Representatives. If the findings are not agreed to, the research is taken from the researchers and disposed of by Congress as it sees fit. http://americanscience.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-high-quality-research-

Conservative Video Teaches Children Homosexuality Is Three Times As Dangerous As Smoking

“Being gay is three times more dangerous than smoking,” claims this video, created by Faith 2 Action, a fundamentalist Christian group that regularly engages in anti-choice and anti-gay fear campaigns under the typical conservative guise of being “pro-family.”

The video starts with a bizarre reading to children of two books that are obviously supposed to be parodies of Heather Has Two Mommies and Daddy’s Roommate, two children’s books that are pro-equality. The reading is bizarre because of the parody books; Heather has Two Cigarettes and Daddy’s Roommate has Lung Cancer, respectively. During the reading, Janet Porter of Faith 2 Action tries to compare cigarette smoking to homosexuality, saying, in fact, that they’re both health dangers and homosexuality is more dangerous. http://mscyprah.newsvine.com/_news/2013/05/03/18035928-conservative-vi

Note: Hours after posting this four and a half minute video, YouTube posted the message: “Your video has been removed as a violation of YouTube’s policy prohibiting hate speech.”

Faith2Action President Janet Porter issued the following statement to the Press: “YouTube’s censorship has made the point of the film we’re now producing–the homosexual movement seeks to silence all those who disagree,” stated Porter.

It's been re-posted without the comment she put up that got it banned: "If we wouldn’t indoctrinate children to smoke, WHY would we do it for something even MORE DANGEROUS?" So if you can stomach it, here it is:

‘Concerned’ Fox News Guest: Scientific ‘Enlightenment And Reason’ Led Directly To The Holocaust

Meet Penny Nance. She’s really concerned. How concerned? Well the Concerned Women for America CEO appeared on Fox & Friends this morning to decry the horrific fact that Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx would dare proclaim May 2nd as a “Day of Reason” in addition to the widely-recognized “Day of Prayer.”

“You know, G. K. Chesterton said that the Doctrine of Original Sin is the only one which we have 3,000 years of empirical evidence to back up. Clearly, we need faith as a component and it’s just silly

The depth of stupidity on the right is simply amazing. Gobsmackingly, stunningly, frighteningly amazing.

Yes, it is...certainly of SOME on the right. Certainly SOME on the left too, it's just that the past few years, what crazies there are on the left have been SO vastly outnumbered by daily reminders of crazies on the right, it leaves me shaking my head...

So,

A full 1/3 of Americans are ready to fight a tyrannical government? Wish it were 90%. But we are getting there.

Much better than the 3% of the American revolution, no?

lol Niki, you and your kind are fading away (much too slowly in my opinion). Its not too late for you to repent.

Wulfie, did you even pass elementary math?? Less than half of America (42% as of January) identify as Republican. Less than half of THEM (44%) are in support of your little Rambo-for-simpletons fantasy.

That's less than 1/5 of America, dipshit.

The GOP is shrinking. The Tea Party is shrinking, and has become a joke to everyone not IN the party. Demographics are shifting drastically. Senators who voted against background checks are falling in the polls. I can go on.

It's your kind that's fading, kiddo (well, except hate groups and paranoid militias - they're growing a bit, and you fit in with them, no doubt). I know you live in a fantasy world.... but are you really THAT blind??

To everyone else: Quick, raise your hand if you're surprised Wulfie has trouble with basic math....

*crickets*

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Betcha the Repubs are in favor of Armed Rebellion against the government RIGHT NOW, when it's run by Democrats; but, also, betcha that if the R's EVER get back in power, and anybody EVEN SUGGESTS non-violent Revolution or protest against THEM, they'd put the National Guard out on the streets with orders to shoot to kill. And that Wulf, et al, would be on the front lines cheering them on, if not volunteering to help out.
Don't think there's anybody , even around here, DUMB enough to actually put up money against me.

Wow!

So 44% of the population is with me on overthrowing the government?

Is that more or is that less than who was supportive of it when we all hated GWB?

NewOld; nobody with half a brain would put money up against you (which of course still leaves those "at least two" which Mark mentioned), because of course you are absolutely right.

But I don't think Wulf would be right there volunteering; egging them on, certainly, and trying to take credit if he could find a way. But actually taking part? I highly doubt it; he's not into getting involved in the process to improve it LIKE SOME OF US, he's bigger on fantasy and pretend.

Couldn't keep my eyes from avoiding what Six wrote--does that make him one of the "two", Mark, since HE couldn't do the math either, or does that make three of them?

Way to prove your illiteracy, genius.

That's 44% of republicans, dipshit, not all citizens. And republicans are only 42% of the country...

And yes, Niki, boozy the clown here makes three that dumb.
