Romney's gaffe vs. Obama's 'clinging to guns and religion' line: this article argues that the messages were completely different:

Yup, Obama said he still had to go after those votes, because he wanted to be the President of ALL Americans.
Romney says it's his job not to worry about "those people", implying he has no desire to be their President.

I note for the record that in today's polls Obama has 47%.
Romney says that 47% of the people are going to vote for Obama no matter what, so he's going to not worry about them and focus on the 5-6% of people who are undecided. I'm not sure why you think this is wrong.
Unless you think he means that he plans to focus on the 5-6% superwealthy. So you think it's his plan to ignore people whose vote he can't get in favor of people whose vote he can't lose...sure, that's his campaign strategy.

B/c you are not giving him 'credit' for ALL he said: There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are DEPENDENT UPON GOVERNMENT, who BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE VICTIMS, who BELIEVE THE GOVERNMENT HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO CARE FOR THEM, who BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE ENTITLED to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that’s an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. These are people who pay no income tax. ... [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them THEY SHOULD TAKE PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and care for their lives.

He also says he doesn't care about anyone who isn't paying income taxes, which is pretty funny given his own tax problems. Around two-thirds of corporations in this country don't pay any corporate taxes, so Romney isn't interested in them; they are, after all, people, my friends! A good number of Romney's 47% are elderly, who worked all their life and are now retired and collecting Social Security - which they paid into for their whole working life; Romney says he doesn't care about them, either.
We already know he doesn't care about students, because if they really need money they can just go borrow from their rich parents (after all, the middle class is those who earn $200,000 - $250,000, he said). And he's never cared about the very poor; he's been pretty clear about that. He's doing horribly with Hispanic voters and blacks, he's tanking with women, so I guess he figured he'd double down and just go ahead and try to alienate veterans, military personnel, seniors, students, and even Jewish voters.
He's really batting for the cycle this week!

Yeah, that figures to be the sort of spin from folks who'd think, when Obama says " You didn't built that ! " , he was actually talking about roads and bridges, and not small businesses.
And Romney, he is clearly talking about getting their VOTES, not dismissing them as being their President. It's pretty clear, that he's talking bout folks who pay no taxes, and have been conditioned to think that the govt is here just to give them stuff. Sadly, he's absolutely right about that, and he's just stating a fact.

It's funny, because in trying to "clarify" his dear and fluffy lord's remarks, Rappy has just repeated the insult. Romney and Rappy really do think that ANYONE who doesn't pay income taxes is "conditioned to think that the govt is here just to give them stuff."
So the 95 year-old woman who worked her whole life and is now collecting Social Security and Medicare that she paid for? Freeloader who just wants free stuff, according to Rappy and Romney. Disabled war vet? Moocher just looking for a handout, claiming to be some kind of victim.
