I kinda dismisssed this one at first, then I thought about how many women I know have multiple cats and depression... Maybe the cats are actively changing our DNA so that we are depressed and want to stay home and "Cry on their shoulders?" and feed them and love them and pet them and squeeze them, George....

Maybe you wantin' to kill yer cat, Byte, is a subconscious biological imperative in action??

EDIT: Of course, the alternative here is that people that have multiple cats were ALREADY mentally compromised and this is a pure coincidence???

OK, hands of people who's major grocery expense is little cans of nasty smellin' stuff??

Oh I thought you were talking about my oldest sister. My take on Cat Ladies is their beeches up to 40. Then their tank is dry and their wheels are road hard. Men can go younger and start fresh. If they were high maintenance before it's now menopause, hysterectomy, Prozac, mastectomy, and a prune face. A man's youth is spent with a pain in the ass. Now they can live a whole new life. But the woman finds her value downgraded on the market. So now she needs her mother to listen to her woes. So the cat is the now the fixation of her lonely life. But her drama was all self induced. Family, friends, and neighbors is just what I go by. When you hear stories of the past over and over again. Their stuck and don't want to change. Worrying about what was lost in the past versus living in the moment of what you have left in life.

Toxoplasmosis has a number of behavioural side effects, and little to do with the whims of a cat.

Rat Study Showed Parasite Changes the Brain
A 2011 study on rats infected by the parasite showed that their fear of cats disappeared. Instead, the parts of their brains associated with sexual arousal were activated. Researchers theorized that the mind-manipulating T. gondii ensures that the parasite will reach and reproduce in the gut of a cat, which it depends upon for its survival.

"The parasite does actually alter the brain of its host," Stanford University study co-author Patrick House told ABCNews.com last year. "The fact that a parasite can get into an organism, target its brain, stay there without killing the host and alter the circuitry of the brain -- we've seen this is insects and fungi, but it's the first time we've seen it in a mammalian host."

Crazy like a fox-like bug.

Or toxoplasmosis gongi is a Pentagon bioweapon, combined with fluoride and mercury, to intentionally dumb-down the Amerikan sheeple into zombified psychopaths with an IQ drop of 30 points. The easier to catch and kill by the NWO. Over 100-million Amerikans have been genocided by aborticide since 1973, funded by over $1-billion taxdollars. With 60-million Amerikans infected with toxoplasmosis, why is this epidemic not being attacked and cured by CDC and CNN?

"The UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs announced plans to combat Dengue fever and other mosquito-borne illnesses with genetically modified mosquitoes designed to make them sterile or simply kill them off, as reported on the U.N news service IRIN. These mosquitoes are engineered with an extra gene or inserted bacterium. "People generally do not like the unknown and are alarmist. Because there has never been a [field] release of GM [genetically modified] mosquitoes, critics are free to imagine what can possibly go wrong," said UK-based entomologist and professor at Imperial College London, John Mumford. The Malaysia-headquartered NGO Pesticide Action Network-Asia and the Pacific opposed a since-granted request to release modified mosquitoes on the grounds that "it may have environmental or health consequences as well as carry risks arising from horizontal gene transfer", wrote executive director, Sarojeni V. Rengam, who stressed the "possibility of new health risks to humans and animals....the insect may become more virulent, aggressive, or its bite might have different effects on the host." The most shocking section of this release is that for the last 50 years scientists have released billions of engineered insects into the ecosystem. In fact, many have reported that recent dengue outbreaks can be directly traced to U.S. Army experiments coordinated by the CIA. In most cases of government funding for scientific research, there is usually a military origin. The technology is even being used as another manufactured terrorist threat. The U.N. proudly reports: 'Australian researchers from the University of Queensland, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, have received regulatory approval to begin in December to release mosquitoes i

If she's having trouble it probably isn't the cats' fault. You can't always find a target to blame Wish.

PN: the mosquito story demonstrates a typical level of cluelessness among these people delving in genetic modification - any animal with a gene that causes sterility does not reproduce, and the gene disappears very quickly from the population.

Even if it were to lateral transfer, it could not affect the entire germline of a person and the gametes to reproduce unless the person were genetically modified themselves to begin with (and in that case, see the previous point). There's really not much point to trying to create sterile mosquitos.

However, the quotes you have gathered about engineering other pathogens are concerning.

Black comedy is watching hitler sped up and set to Yakety Sax. Maybe making a joke about someone flipping out on you after they told you a story about how broken up they were when one of their cats died just isn't funny.

Also, animal abuse: not funny.

You can't say horrible stuff to someone you don't like and then pass it off as just kidding. That doesn't fly.

*raises hand*
Well, yes and no - back when we had all six together I will say they generally ate better than I did.
I've only got Puppy here ever since Kallista passed on, and she's affectionate enough, but not in a way that promotes doting on her... but when I wish to escape conversation or company, I *will* haul out the age-old standby of boring folk to death talking of the cats, alas that being as weird as these cats are that's maybe less effective than I'd like.

<-- Male variant of crazy-cat-lady, also, experienced cat-herder!
(which got me stuck hauling a whole passel of bratlings to go see Brave!)
