Want to make these areas better? Burn-and-clear, push these animals into the ocean.

I'm wondering if he's getting his ideas from Zimbabwe, where basically the white land owners and farmers were told to pound sand by the govt, and then that land was taken, and given to the blacks.

Generally, the best land in Zimbabwe was given to supporters of Pres. Mugabe and his family members. The marginal land was given to folks who had no idea how to farm it. Zimbabwe went from being the "breadbasket of Africa" to a country that pretty much lives on foreign food aid.
Unfortunately, if the Asian shops closed down in Ward 8 in D.C., pretty much the same thing would happen there.
