Hello,

It's possible to find love in the most surprising places. Even in a Wulf thread. It means a lot.

But then, in his own way, I suppose Wulf started this thread with love. So I shouldn't be surprised to find it at the end, even if the middle went astray.

These people could expect the same from me. Though at least one of them would probably be surprised to hear I hold them in such esteem.

"I'm Spartacus!" I think it might be more like only 2 people wouldn't put you up - you're a diamond geezer. I wouldn't argue with you if I didn't think so!

In terms of friendship and who qualifies - I told myself that in RWED I wouldn't look for friends or try to be too friendly (or too dickish), because that would lead to favoritism and to me the Ideal RWED was as a place for ideas and debate without the prejudice of friendship (or what someone looks like or having any real life consequences for having unpopular ideas). It supposed to be about ideas only, at least that's it's appeal to me. Sometimes unintended things happen along the way though.

Which five or six people are the most indispensable in your life for such situations? Who will have your back, be loyal and fearless, stay cool under pressure, and never ever betray you, no matter what hell may come? Who can you rely on to be there if you need them, to be there if they say they're going to be there? Those people are your true friends, and the ones who deserve your very highest levels of respect.

We should make that it's own thread!
Cause I'd be much amused to engage in that particular thought exercise - not metaphorically, but who here would want who on a crew to rob a bank and why ?
That'd be hi-larious.

We've never met, but I would make five. Definitely.

And I can prove it would be true, for me, because I even FLEW to England to bring Jo (who I'd only met on line) and her dog home from England to live with us when she was in that position (BEFORE I knew my feelings about her, mind you). AND Choey (who I'd known for nearly a decade only on line) is living with us right now and has for over four years, from the time I paid for her to fly herself and her dog here from Back East when she was in pretty much the position you described. She is still not in a position to support herself, and I don't care if she stays with us for the rest of her life. Her dog drives both Jim and I crazy, but he feels the same about her.

So not only can I say with proof that the same would be true for you, but that it's BEEN TRUE for two people and would be true for numerous more, several of them on this forum.

You have many friends here, I believe, who would do the same.

This thread has taken a weird turn, but ok.

My home is open. We will give you "aid and succor". Even help you find a job. Cus, you know, we don't believe in people living on others forever.

Done it before, will do it again.

But here, you earn your keep. And you will get back up on your feet. No time for freeloaders.

So, come by our little cave. Stay a while. If you've got legs to stand on, more the welcome. Don't? We will help you find them.

When I have a place, and I'm pretty close to that, people can hang out and stay over, it's cool.

I have a tendency to assume that if someone is nice to me and I like hanging around them that they are my friend. This doesn't always prove true unfortunately, but its the attitude I go into things with, if they actively irritate me, purposefully or not, then I don't think of them as a friend, but if they're nice, we have things in common and I don't mind their presence they're put on the friend list quickly. Of course its harder to get on the good friend list, we have to spend a lot of time, in some fashion, together and like doing so.

I made my subject line what it is now because I've realized that not everyone assumes comradery, and people will understand me better if they know that's how I think, otherwise I might confuse them.

Bank robbing: That would make a rockin' thread.

I assume you're my pal until you let me know otherwise.
