Best nostalgic tv memories.

Some good choices and I have several nostalgic TV memories but the winner by a huge margin is this one:

It is early Saturday evening, the football results were all in, Bruce 'I should have died in the 80s' Forsythe was hosting a crappy game show and dinner was being cooked in the kitchen. The familiar 'duh-duh-duh-dum' music came on and you sat transfixed to the screen for about 25 mins as the Doctor worked his way through his latest adventure, leaving you on tenderhooks as the cliffhanger arrived with the shriek of the end credits music. Next Saturday couldn't come quick enough.
There was nothing better in the 70s and 80s that gave you the same feeling.

As for other memories:

Robin Of Sherwood: Hearing the beautiful music from Clannad, but also the fact the Robin Hood was treated in a serious way (despite the fantasy elements). Saturday evening again.

Fawlty Towers and Father Ted: So few episodes but so many classic moments. Comedy genius wrapped into a compact TV show.

The Professionals: Bodie and Doyle rolling over car bonnets (hoods), jumping fences and screeching the tyres of their Capri's around corners during a car chase.

Battlestar Galactica (Orig): Up until this I wanted to be an X-wing pilot. After the pilot movie aired I wanted to be a Viper pilot. In some ways I still do.

Battlestar Galactica
Space 1999
The Love Boat
Fantasy Island
Three's Company

Got some pretty fond memories of sitting around the ol' cabinet tv with my family watching these shows in the evening.

It's hard to recall my first TV memories, but in the late '50s/early '60s I was glued to the set for Twilight Zone. Then came The Outer Limits, One Step Beyond, Thriller, then Lost in Space (which was fairly good starting out then devolved into sheer stupidity), on to boldly going where no man had gone before - Star Trek!

I don't think I've ever seen UFO, although I heard about it. Probably was on a station we couldn't get. This was before cable, only two stations in town (CBS & NBC), with another (ABC) we could sometimes get out of Dallas a hundred miles away. While there are some shows I'd like to see again, there are others I'd rather not even mention. I did watch things back then simply because I didn't have a lot of selection, but some of them are best forgotten.

No, I didn't, but I will by Summer, got all the material, pins, patches & buckles for it, just need the time to sew it all up. Got most every thing else done. Everything upgraded. The boots were not cheap...

Which, back on topic, says a LOT about my fond memories of Galactica on TV back then. The three hour premiere blew me away that Sunday night.

Thanks. I worked hard on that costume so long ago, and even harder on my ongoing upgrade. I just love the design of it. Heck, I love the designs of most everything on Galactica.
