My signature says it all. I love 70's tv. Some of my best memories of the decade where escapist tv was king, and reality tv was The Gong Show.

SOme of my favorite memories:

-watching the Love Boat, and Fantasy Island every Saturday night. Great stuff.

-Battlestar Galactica(70's) Sunday nights. Is there anything better than this? Maybe, but at the time....no way.

-Planet of the Apes. Like I said escapism. This show is the best.

-Buffy(WB) Didn't catch it till the second season, but dammit on toast, I was blown away. At the time thinking "I can't believe this show is better than the X-Files".

-Firefly. Fox Friday which consisted of only one show for me(sorry John Doe). I remember telling most of my friends to watch it at the time, and they ignored me. When it was released on dvd they saw the light.

Some of my favourite TV memories:

Lee Majors punching off John Saxon's face.
Bill Bixby seeing his own reflection in a pond and tears falling.
Terry Carter ordering Lorne Greene to launch.
Lindsay Wagner crumpling to the floor expecting to die in a nuclear blast she could not stop in time.
William Shatner saying "Let's get the Hell out of here."
Philip Ahn saying "Learn more ways to preserve rather than destroy. Avoid rather than check. Check rather than hurt. Hurt rather than maim. Maim rather than kill. For all life is precious nor can any be replaced."
Angela Cartwright saying goodbye to Mr. Nobody.
Dennis Weaver watching the truck go off the mountain.
William Gregory Lee saying "Fight them, Maxie. Promise me you'll fight them. X5/599. I've got a heart for you."
Nathan Fillion saying "Everybody dies alone."

Traveler, Is U.F.O a pretty decent series like Space 1999? I have always wanted to see it. I know tastes differ, but if you say it's good, I'll buy it today.

It was not a bad series. A lot of episodes were more about the misadventures of humans rather then the aliens they were fighting.
The Andersons, who created UFO, were originally in to science fiction puppet animation and took their knowledge of creating models from that and applied it to this series and later to "Space 1999".
Here is a website that does a better job of giving detaials of the show then I.

I just watched The Bionic Woman "Doomsday is Tomorrow" with the scene you mention. Fantastic. Ms. Summers is at her best when she is either dorky, or vulnerable.

I'm going to purchase UFO this very week.

IF you don't have the Bionic Woman though, seasons 1, and 2 are usually on the cheap. Saw both at at Target a couple weeks ago for $10 each!
They are $15 now.
