The Verse In Numbers 2.0 is complete and available for download at:

TVIN2.0 has been expanded to include additional astronomical data and fan-created content. A new page layout by William Pace (Yellowjacket) means it's pretty as well.

Ooh. The first one was really cool. I wonder if they've made updates and corrections based on the Blue Ray extras, like I remember in the white pages they said that Persephone was an Alliance planet, but in the Blue Ray extras it was one of the three main Independent Border planets.

(Which makes sense, if you think about it, because Persephone probably had some entrenched underworld and maybe mafia interests with a sense of humour right from the terraforming, otherwise it's difficult to explain the name, and those underworld interests would NOT want the Alliance stepping all over their toes... Though they'd also be a planet to play both sides and quickly fold under as well, which is why there's little observable damage)

And Yellowjacket contributed, very cool!

In four hour shifts. We were so close to completion last night that Chris stayed up until almost 4 his time and 2 my time.

My info from QMx had it that Persephone was an Alliance world, so that's how I've presented her in The Verse In Numbers.

I haven't picked up the Firefly blu-ray yet, but I will soon. So that's why anything blu-ray specific is absent.

No problem. I'm just reporting what I've seen and speculating on whys. It could very well be a ret-con, or a mistake on the part of the people compiling the blue ray extras, or even a mistake on my part.

But that Blue ray is really neat. Lots of tasty information, like Kaylee's hometown (or maybe her homeworld, but I like it being her hometown), and birthday information, and a few relevant dates.

Fascinating stuff, and so much of it. However, I was unable to find anything on how all those close-together stars (the "verse" appears to be less than 100 billion kilometers in diameter) appear from the various planets. The closest stars to earth (other than the sun) are over 40,000 billion light years away, and do not stand out in the night sky. Has anyone done anything on this aspect of the verse?
