Can you still enjoy Firefly as much as the first time you watched it?

This isn't an easy question for me to answer...In my first viewing, Out of Gas & Objects in Space blew me away HARD, like 'Empire' hard.
After so many viewings, I still love the show as I ever have, and can always stand to see it a little more, but 'hairs-on-the-back-of-my-neck' factor has diminished some.
Strangely, Serenity has not changed for me at all.
Every time Mal says "I aim to misbehave" I freak.
Every. Time.
Every time Book says "Just believe" I cry.

Maybe that is the main thing that takes me "out" of Firefly. The fact that I know it is highly unlikely we will ever see our heroes on the small(or big) screen again. The second and third time through were way more meaningful for me than the first time, partly because I saw some of the episodes alone on the first go round and when I see things alone for the first time I struggle to totally follow the show. But the fact that Firefly transcended that confusion is one of the things that made it great, I loved it even when I was a lil' confused. So when I watched it the second, third, fourth times with my dad I could really enjoy it because I sort of knew what was coming and could just enjoy it.
I watch it about once a year all the way through and still enjoy it very much, including saying my favorite lines along with the charactors. I've made sure to keep it special, never over watching it or having a disc in the player at all times, I've learnt that for me that can dull a favorite thing and I don't want to do that, Firefly is much too special.

I must be an exception to that. I have the BluRays and still watch it about the same amount. Which is marathons twice a year and assorted episodes in between.

In the earlier years, it was a bit more though. Its a good way for me to relax.

I don't think it's a Blu-Ray thing either, but more the fact that I have other things to watch and do and don't want to get burnt out on the show. Not sure that will ever happen, but around once a year is a good average I think.

I watch the series once a year now in marathon; Serenity 2 or maybe 3 (one being at the end of the series marathon).

Agreed.

Though I may already know most of the lines, know when the shocks, or surprises are coming, and know how each episode ends I still love each episode. Some more than others, that's true, but my love for the show has not dulled at all. I still get that warm, "I'm home" feeling each time I watch. Sure the magic of the first viewing may not be there as it was the first time around, but that does not make it any less special to me.

I still enjoy the show, every time I watch it. Can’t tear my eyes away from the screen just before Jayne makes that idiotic remark that we know he’s going to make, or Wash delivering that punch-line that will irritate Mal or his wife.

Inara, Zoe, Kaylee and River ( and Saffron) are all a feast to look at and Book and Simon are so mechanical in their duties, yet loveable.

And Mal Reynolds, even a captain with flaws ….. I can never tire of.

Yepper, still watch the show…..maybe not as often nowadays but still do.
