Completely bogus Apple suing Samsung.
Let me get this straight. Apple saw the rise of Kindle says and said "Damn, we need an ereader, stat!" So, they took an iPhone, changed virtually nothing, and then ordered some tablets from Samsung, installed the iPhone OS 3.2 and put their chip in it, and sold it as a brand new product "iPad"
Well, it was serendipity that the iPad turned out to be a great invention. Apple then invented a backstory for iPad that this was some great project that they'd been working on for years, when in reality, a 10 inch iPhone was just a great idea. It didn't do what apple wanted it to: Become the ereader competitor. Instead, it displaced netbooks as the easy to carry around computing device that could get data from a 3G network (or once they added 3G it did.)
So, along comes Samsung with their 7" Galaxy Tab. It's really just the Galaxy S, scaled up to 7". Also a really good idea. Phones are small, guys, and difficult to control. They fit in your pocket, yeah, great, but they don't really lend themselves well to use by human hands unless your hands are really small.
But if you use a Galaxy Tab, (as I still am trying to do, I prefer the portability, but so far, I've had better luck with the iPad) you will notice that it is a lot like the iPad, or the iPhone.
This is because Google took a lot of routines from iOS and reverse engineered them and built them into the latest releases of Android.
But, Apple doesn't want to sue Google, because Google is a giant US company worth half as much as Apple and has about half as many employees. Wake-up call guys. Samsung has ten times as many employees as Google, and as an institution was founded in 900-something AD. It's not going anywhere anytime soon.
That's what a ship is, you know - it's not just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails, that's what a ship needs.
