Skynet, however, is up and runnning. I just woke up from a dream that made it all clear.

The location of everyone was known in absolute detail because of a new website that had some internet cutesy name and contained the blueprints of every building in the world. It seemed harmless, and some nutjob was ranting about how it was interfering with his privacy. I didn't like him at all. He reminds me of that psycho I met yesterday. He was protecting, or claimed to be, a friend of his, a skinny sick black guy who I didn't know, I had only seen in passing from people who seemed harmless, and sounded like they wanted to help him. (help the black guy) Peaceful friendly hippie types.

I didn't get it. Until I woke up, and then I got it right away.

Through the use of cell phones and myriad other products with GPS, including cars, his location could be known. He was actually worried about protecting someone else. The system allowed the GPS to track anyone to a specific exact location and provided a layout of every structure ever, a detailed virtual map of the Earth as a final piece in a puzzle.

The President of the United States has set forth a radical doctrine: That he can target any nation, world leader, independent group or individual, including his own citizens, for destruction, detention and assassination based on the principle alone that he disagrees with them. Not that they disagree actively with him, or represent a threat, or have threatened him.

Now we all know that people being attacked in Kandahar and Baluchistan are not only not plotting to kill the President or overthrow the US, but that they have quite likely never heard of us until a robotic unmanned satellite network controlled predator drone rained hellfire down on their village.

Now, surely you might say, these remote peoples don't have GPS? Surely they do. Cell phones are the most successful product ever, in every nation in the world, with over 5 billion users. That means everyone except for those who too elderly to be bothered with something new or too young to be trusted with it. (even if kids get their first cell phone at 7 years old, the world population under 7 is pretty large, so 5 billion is basically everyone.) Not everyone in Kandahar, but maybe someone, certainly people in Pakistan, Syria, Yemen and Libya.

Now this idea that we can attack simple to change policy and protect interests (sure, has been the hidden agenda behind US interference for decades) was stated openly by Obama as his reason for going into Libya, which laid out what is now known as the Obama doctrine, I've heard that term all over, with various connotations. Some call it "internationalist as opposed to unilateralist" an idea ridiculed even by Jon Stewart. It's the more tricky parts of the Doctrine that I think will stand out historically: American leadership of the international community, a set of nations picked by us to lead, to call the world, and most particularly: Preemption based on nothing other than the dislike of policy. No excuse needed.

Now who is this Obama guy? He's a charismatic leader who represents ideas that are not really his own, even his defenders use this as his defense, that these are the products of think tanks, and he is pressured into putting them into action, the real powers behind the throne remain unseen.

He is arrogant in a different way from his predecessor. He presumes himself to be not a world leader, but the world leader, and even during the campaign had given himself a presidential seal, and built a stage pantheon where he stood in place of Zeus. This is not a modest man, even if he appears modest and charming. He has charisma, and lots of it. The people to a degree, trust him. Not a majority, but enough.

This situation should sound all too familiar.

An interventionist/expansionist foreign policy based on world leadership of hand picked allies and lackeys, including numerous puppet govts. for a broad coalition of action for unilateral decisions that are not even his own, but come from people unknown. (T
