The truth is, Spike left Sunnydale because he thought he was gonna be young Picard...

I ignored the show for the first season and a half, and then one day I was carpooling with a guy who proclaimed he was "now officially addicted to Buffy". I shot him a look, "What, you mean that show they made outta that cheesy movie with PeeWee?"
He gave me that "Awww, Dude! You have no idea!" shake of the head, and proceeded to explain all about which end of the stick Joss had gotten from the Kuzui's & Donald Sutherland.
I just kinda thought "Whatever, man."
The following week I channel-surfed into the middle of "Innocence", and it was the scene where The Judge has just incinerated somebody, and Drusilla is gleefully stomping her foot, "Do it again! Do it again!"
I watched for another five minutes, and I was hooked.

I watched religiously from then until the end of Season 3, but then stopped, because a) nothing could top The Mayor as a Big Bad, and b) I couldn't afford cable anymore.

Poor Anya & Xander, though.

Kennedy is ok in your book..fine. Buffy becomes the super hero she was destined to be. Willow, and Xander play second fiddle to "potential" slayers. What a waste.

Yeah, that part was... imperfect.

Just rewatched the "Bad Girls" episode, and was suddenly reminded why the Mayor was so awesome...

Y'see.... TV just doesn't do this kind of thing anymore. Or at least not with the finesse that Buffy did.

Ho humm....

Best season by miles!

I actually liked the *idea* of the potential slayers. I thought it had.. well, potential. I think they could have had some great scenes with Willow, Xander and Giles training them. It could have been interesting to make Willow and Xander 'authority' figures as well as Buffy. A world of opportunity for humour and character-driven dialogue. Also, it would have been good to draw more on what had happened in the previous seasons. The 'potential slayers' could have been great if the idea was handled better. The characters weren't developed enough for the audience to be able to identify with them, as we had with Buffy, Willow and Xander and Giles before.

What I don't like about the Kennedy thing is that it happened to soon after Tara. Kennedy herself didn't annoy as a character.

---

I recently started watching the motion comics on itunes, but I can't say it 'gets me' like the series did. The actor's voices are too distracting and the drawings don't really look like the actors anyway. I think I'd be better off reading the comic without the voices or even a novel.
