Ohhhh, man! I was 8 years old when Le Mans came out, and I became instantly obsessed with it, begging to go see it whenever I'd see it on a marquis. Must've seen it at least 10 times in theatres.
Then, when I found it on DVD, I put it on Loop for about 2 weeks, until my player burned out.
I even got the coffee table book on the making of it.

Oooh yeah Grand Prix definitely good car racing flick...though i can't remember it as well as Le mans as it's been a Looooooooong while since 1983 when i last saw it. I wanna add James Garner to my list of Cool as Steve Mcqueen....boy is their gonna be much weeping in my house when Mr Garner leaves the planet (my dad will be more heartbroken than me).

One of my favorite movies is Heart Like A Wheel. It's the story of Shirley Muldowney, starring Bonnie Bedelia and Beau Bridges. The movie has a great soundtrack, but the strength of the movie is in the wonderful emotional portrayals of these real-life people.

I've never seen "Le Mans".
Given that deep flaw in my movie education, I have to vote for "The Gumball Rally".
It's one part of the 1970's that I actually miss.
