Firefly. Oh my god, Firefly. At the time "the Train Job" aired I had pretty much given up on tv. Buffy was nearly done, and everything else paled in comparison. I watched it and wasn't overly impressed. Friday nights have always been a geeks paradise from the X-Files on back to the Incredible Hulk/Dukes of Hazard, and further yet Planet of the Apes/Kolchack the Night Stalker(different networks but on the same night).
Toward the end of the series, I was more than hooked. I looked forward to Friday Nights because I knew I was witnessing one of the best science fiction series ever created.
when I heard of the cancellation I was numb. It felt like someone close to me had died...it was that important to me.
I don't know if Joss plans to re-visit "the Verse" some day but if he does, I will be the happiest person alive.

The series lost me when Joshua got fleas. I felt it SO lost the fine edge of the first season...
It was only on DVD that I could skip the crap eps of season two to see he true wonder of the entire series...

I can't even think of the close second. Can't complain too much because it did get four seasons which is amazing. The truly aggravating aspect is they seemed so close to actually finishing the story.

Oh, I don't disagree with any particular point, sir. I loved Season One of DA. And when I tried to watch S2, I just couldn't take it. It lost something... maybe it lost everything. Never looked back after dumping it from the VCR schedule...

I've only ever seen bits and pieces of it, but I was really intrigued by what I saw. And what's kept me from going back and buying the whole series is that I keep hearing that it was just ripped away, and then they gave us two crappy "movies" to act as "closure".
I'm not intrigued enough to buy it, but I *DO* want to see it. Too many shows, not enough time, I'm afraid...

Farscape, as I WAS watching it at cancellation. And it's the only show in my life that I have refused to answer the phone for when it was on. The two part movie tie up was a very good attempt at closure IMHO, so I would recommend it, Kwicko.
But the other one ,(apart from the obvious, which wasn't even registered this side of the pond) was Alien Nation. That finished on areal cliffhanger and then puffed away into the ether.

Yeah, goes w/ out saying that Firefly was a kick in the head.
And same goes for John Doe. I had actually liiked that show more, at first, and was giving Firefly a chance, because one came after the other.
Wonderfalls was like losing a new friend. To a lesser extent, same w/ Pushing Daisies. I liked it, but I also just liked the idea that it was on the air, almost as much. Even if I didn't catch every episode, I felt better knowing others were watching it.
Quantum Leap had run its course, I suppose, but still... seeing it wrap up was tough.
I know there have to be a few more, but I can't think of them at the moment.
