What ever happened to privacy in this country? A TV News crew has nothing better to do than follow auto workers around for a few days? I'm not excusing the fired workers, but it just seems to me that anyone can be filmed at some point in their daily life with potentially embarrassing consequences. It seems wrong to me for anyone to be spied on for the sake of a news story, 'cause it isn't national security or anything like that. Why didn't they get mandatory rehab or counselling rather than getting fired. Where's the great union contract to protect them from that?

Never heard of the Paparazzi ? Happens every damn day. And this news crew wasn't hounding the workers, but staying back and letting them go about their daily routine. And that's the point, it wasn't that the news team was following them around, after hours, or peering into the homes or some hotel room. If their jobs were so important and it was such a crucial thing for us to bail them out with tax dollars, then the least they could do is stay sober enough while on the clock. Not too much to ask.

I'm guessing , after the video and under the circumstances, their actions were so egregious and blatant, that even the union contract couldn't allow this to stand. Which I find somewhat surprising.
