Oh
My
God(ess)
Ip Man was PHENOMENAL!!!!!
Historical accuracy aside, it was THE best MA flick I've ever witnessed- it even topped Jackie Chan's Drunken Master 2 (AKA: Legend Of The Drunken Master) IMO!!!!
Buy it; rent it; DOWNLOAD it; whatever, this is a MUST-SEE for gung-fu peeps!!!!!
Plus: it's just a good story.

And Ip Man 2 is on its way.
Sorry, no subs in this trailer, but I've read that it's basically about how Ip Man ended up in HK and some of the rival school didn't exactly like him all that much. Main one being the Hung Gar school ran by Sammo Hung's character.
Ip Man, of course, eventually becomes Bruce Lee's master, so there is a young Bruce Lee in the movie.

No, but I just watched Kung Fu Hustle (Thanks to the suggestions upthread). Now that was off da hook! I'm now a die-hard Stephen Chow fan! I'd already seen (and loved!) Shaolin Soccer, but this one just cemented the deal.
Couldn't believe the image quality! It's amazing how much slicker everything looks through a properly-used wide-angle lens!

But what about Jet Li's Fist of Legend?
And probably Jet Li's Once Upon a Time in China series stuff?
I also like some of the old stuff too with Gordon Liu (Kill Bill).

Quote:The gung-fu is good, but Fist Of Fury still leaves me teary & exhausted. Jet's cool, but let's never remake a Bruce Lee flick, eh?

Quote:Sorry Haken, that 1-2-3 stuff is unwatchable for me. Be like water; not water hitting every beaver dam, my friend.
