Mine was not a personal statement Boris, was referring to the general feel from the Dennis Leary rant. I have no way of knowing if you or anyone else is mostly ignored, I simply said I think cats are good "for those kind of people" and I agree cats are good for other types of people as well... You yourself admit that your brain waves aren't completely smack-dab in the spectrum of norm and while you are lucky enough to have attentive friends I am sure you have heard the phrase "Crazy Cat Lady" enough to know that not everyone with a brain not in the "norm range" is a social butterfly... I appologize if I what I said made you feel you need to defend yourself and please, call your friends today and tell them how much you appreciate them... My friends only ignore me AFTER they have stabbed me in the back -so a friend, especially a *loyal* friend is a truly great thing...

hey Iremist no offence taken...I was just a little quick to react (it's a Sicilian thing also mis-interpretation of blog comments is the downside of not being able to talk face to face with people, you lose the sarcastic/comedic/ironic nuances you can hear in voices when you are reading rather than listening...also you can't see facial expressions).
my friends are all a tad on the crunchy-nutty side but they would never stab me in the back so I'm uber appreciative. People who treat me like crap generally end up wearing it...ya want me to come over there and sort out your backstabbers?(That's a Sicilian thing too)
P.S. I ASPIRE to being the crazy cat lady when I retire.
P.P.S.S. Ugh! who'd want to be normal...how utterly ugh!...no offence meant to anyone who may identify as normal, but ewwww!!!!.

I had the opportunity of playing with a tiger cub for a few minutes once...it was the coolest experience. I was blown away by the fact that It was a baby but bigger than an adult cat, It was kneading my tummy with it's massive plump paws and head butting me. Only time in my life I've had something akin to a maternal twinge while playing with a baby.

Depends on how they do it.
Straight line headbumb is a plea for attention/petting.
Angle/sideface is scent marking you as "their" human.
Side of jaw with nips/nibbles is a higher degree of affection, but fairly rare.
While actually explainable in each individual part, taken as a whole by most humans feline behavior can be a little incomprehensible.
But then again, sometimes not.

Both of my cats lately have come up with a new way to play with my dog.
They wait until she dozes off... then one of them sneaks up about an inch away from her face... then the cat lets out this blood curdling meow and runs...
I swear there is a contest between the two of them as to how close they can get without waking her up first.
My poor dog though doesn't get it... she runs after the cat, and sometimes past the cat looking for the danger to save the cat. She is quite protective despite their evil senses of humor.
Might be their revenge for when she walks past when they are asleep and drops a big wet kiss across their faces

This is Kallista, the princess of the household, and boy she knows it!
And this is Puppy, who's a bit cracked in the head and seems to think she's a dog half the time, hench the ever so appropriate name.
Of course, they're almost as bad as children.
Little, furry, SPOILED ROTTEN children, at that!
