What comic/game/book do you think should be made into a movie?

As it turns out, they are making a movie out of my favorite comic... Sin City.

Best quote from Sin City...

"Sometimes helping out a friend means killing a whole lot of people."

Books... welll, I can think of a few thousand, but its nice to see that Harsh Mistress will finally come to the theater... even though they killed Starship Troopers. The movie was ok, but it wasn't the book! I guess I would like to see the first DragonLance series get the Lord of the Rings treatment. Just the first triliogy. After the Twins triliogy, the whole series went to go se.

Games to movies are hard for me to say. I like games, I like movies. I think the two ought to be kept separate. Kinda like how they keep taking 60s and 70s TV shows and making them into movies... STOP IT!!! The shows weren't that great to start with! What's next? Gilligan's Island?!? How about this, Hollywood.... try something original! Oh, wait. You can't. You are a business and like to earn money where it has been made before... heh heh heh... oops.

Sorry for drifting into rant mode...

To sum up how bad the Keanu/Constantine flick will be;
John Constantine being made into an American with a Holy Shotgun is roughly as blasphemous to comic fans as the new Superman movie having Kal-El be raised as French...

...and as for the comic I want to see as a movie (or series of movies/adult HBO show etc)... unquestionably The Invisibles by Grant Morrison. It would be the movie the Matrix series should have been but never even got close to.

Don't even get me started on great SF novels that need filmed...

I'd like to see the Sword of Truth series as a movie. It's not terribly likely, as the author is somewhat reclusive, still, I think that if the movie stayed true to the books it would be epic on the scale of Lord of the Rings.

That damn near killed me when I read that bit. I was rolling. Who says evil can't do Disney...

JMS and Whedon are rather similar geniuses, just in different styles. All I need is that "make everything dark but then tell a joke" to pop up at the top. I'd love to see them work together on something some day.

Comics: More Hellboy dammit!

Games: The Fallout series, deffinately. I'd also love to see Planescape. The Baldur's Gate games too, but as a series so we can get all of the story and the really cool side-quests. Deus Ex, and Half-life if someone can do those well.

Books: Stephen King's Dark Tower series, The Rest of the Hitchhiker's Guide series, just about anything by Rob Salvatore, Dragonlance (core trilogy), and the Myst trilogy by Rand Miller and Robin Wingrove (or just Book of Ti'ana).

Is that it? Yeah, I think so.

According to Ron Perlman, they are indeed hard at work on the sequel (as of a few months ago).

He says that the script is even better than the first, but then don't all actors say that?

I definitely agree in theory;but I'm always paranoid with my favourite books that it will be crap on the screen. Peter Jackson proved me wrong, but he is the exception.

Comics: Preacher. They keep talking about this, and there is an entry on IMDb for it. But James Marsden as Jesse Custer makes about as much sense as Keanu Reeves as John Constantine. I think I might rather see it anime. And I don't think that in this country a decent movie of Preacher could be made. Too much "blasphemy" -- Americans can take the killin', but mainstream doesn't wanna hear anyone talk about what a bleeping bleeper God is, especially a Texas boy in a collar.
