I don't think thats odd at all. I don't use my arms much when I swim. I tend to keep them close to my sides and occasionally use them like underwater flippers to help me glide/turn. I use my legs mostly. I find coordinating arms and legs for traditional stuff like breast stroke and Freestyle is cognitively tedious and takes away from my enjoyment of the water.

been swimming like that since I was 3. I learned to swim the old fashioned way. My dad put me in the water and said" look at me and do what I do...and I did. but a little differently from him...he swims like a frog.
I haven't actually had the time to do much swimming for the last four years due to study commitments. Sad really as I live near some great beaches. my exscuse lately is that they've been closed a lot due to rough conditions or sharks. getting back into a fitness routine is a big goal for this year.I'm aiming to hit the beach on Friday. woohoo!

Well to jump on the band wagon, I swim that way too, I always thought I was a handicapped swimmer(no offence ment). Ijust can't get it.:(
I work for the Dept. of the Interior, at the National Business Center, we have 4 large IBM Main frames, over 200 servers, 2 robot tape drives, 2 Xerox large printers and on and on, we have 5 computer rooms. I m a MCO (Master Console Operator) and I run the Print & Tape rooms, 6 people total.
i am a geek!
Hobbies:conventions, knitting(Jayne Hats mostly),going to TEA,I do rescue work for the local no-kill cat shelter ,sew a little and love cooking. Looks like I'm kinda dull.

I have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering and have been the, not 'a', the 
Quality Design Engineer for a steel finishing facility for the past 2 years. Prior to that, I was a post-doctorate researcher at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, working in a group that did hand rehabilitation, primarily following stroke. However, my area was developing exoskeletons to control the fingers of the hand following spinal cord injury. Not being able to secure any grant money, and having 5 people (2 fish, and 2 cats, well, down to one cat now 
) to support, I took the steel mill job. When I'm not cleaning up after kids, I like to exercise and watch TV. Oh, and, for some reason I agreed to be in a play for a local community theater. When asked, I said: "As what? A stagehand?" Instead, I'm playing an 80 year old Holocaust survivor. 
I'm also trying to get back into the health care field. So, if anyone knows anybody, that knows someone, keep me in mind!
