I think the bridge looks a bit too much like the inside of the Apple Store. As a longtime Mac user, I approve, but I'm not sure the style will hold up for the next few hundred years...
'Course, those natty outfits in "Khan" haven't really stood the test of time, either. ;)

I think the new film had all the depth of a cheese sandwich. And I don't mean proper cheese, no Brie, Cheddar or Wenslydale here, no I mean processed cheese. That plastic crap you yanks think is cheese for some reason.
I mean if you had to choose between Star Trek 2009 and Die Hard for a deep meaningful storyline, go with Die Hard.
It's like if someone were to make a Scooby Doo film, but with "real" ghosts instead of crooked real estate agents. Yeah it's sorta like Scooby Doo, but they've kinda missed the entire point.
Wait. They did do that to Scooby Doo didn't they? Never mind.

Not since Wrath Of Khan. Unfortunately, it was the "Goldfinger" of Trek movies- the pattern every wannabe sucessful Trek flick would follow (except Voyage Home). Battle Trek replaced exploration & discovery in favour of its new matrix. Too bad IMO. A better middle ground between TMP & WOK could have been found. Well, perhaps in the next Abram's effort, eh?

Eh? Was there a new Trek Movie? Or do you mean the recent directors cut of "Star Trek Nemesis" where they edited out the TNG crew and digitally replaced them with new actors playing the TOS crew?
OK - that's a bit uncalled for: I liked the establishment of the "new" characters; having someone change the past so they didn't have to worry too much about canon is probably a good idea and the fan shout-outs were quite fun (from Kobiachi Maru to Archer's dog) - but the plot? Oh, for shame:
Renegade Romulan? check.
Giant planet-killer ship? check.
Ramming speed!!! check.
Gratuitous car-chase sequence? check.
Major character killed off? whole fracking planet killed off!
Oh, and by the way, did Scotty nearly getting blended remind anybody else of either (a) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or (b) the "stompers" in Galaxy Quest?
Plus - generally nice sets, except for the engineering deck stuff which looked suspiciously like the factory that Doctor Who always uses for spaceship-interiors.
