I was wondering how one was supposed to count the days. Do you count the day the prediction is made ? Do you count up to the numbered day, or do you include it ? Or do you take it as within the window specified ? It spoils a lot of movies for me. Though it could be a very funny part in a movie. Someone makes a dramatic announcement (you will DIE in THREE DAYS !!!) and meanwhile the person to whom it is said is asking - do you count today ? Do you mean after three full days or when the third day comes up ? And they start counting on their fingers - now, of we count today and it's AFTER three full days it's, uhm, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday ... not until Thursday ? Do I have that right ? But if I DON'T count today and it's after three full days it's ...
But anyway, making it as late as possible, if we didn't count the 28th but started on the 29th instead, and decided it was after 8 full days that makes it ... 29(1), 30(2), 1(3), 2(4), 3(5), 4(6), 5(7), 6(8) ... by my reckoning ... aren't we overdue ? Being overdue .... Is it like being pregnant ? Or like a library book .... Arrghhhh, another set of questions !

Hmm, this one is interesting. Are they bribing the Oil companies to not get in the way, or do they have other interests in mind?
At least at the university I went to, Environmental Scientists were trained at the same school as mining engineers and petroleum geologists. I'd always wondered why; the first field seems like it should have a conflict of interest with the later two.
When I graduated, they phased out my Environmental Science degree with a more general Geoscience with either Geology, Environmental Science, or Geophysics emphasis. The Environmental emphasis no longer has to take the high level hydrology and chemical / pollution courses that I had to take.
