She does write existing characters quite well, and while I still think Atherton Wing is just silly, it was actually Marti Noxon I was thinking of, as someone has dutifully corrected me. Thanks, sorry about that.

I really, really disliked "Living Conditions," as I previously mentioned, and "Buffy vs. Dracula," though occasionally hysterical, was really just a betrayal of the characters and the plotline.
Anyway, Espenson rocks, Noxon less so. That's what I meant.

Espensen is one of my favorites. She doesn't have the suckerpunch effect that Minear and Whedon are so good at, making her episodes often less memorable, but for dialogue I think she's awesome.
