Note on Showers and bathrooms: Firefly established the nifty fold away toilet - I believe all crew bunks to have one. "Passenger Amenities" is Bureaucrat for "Bathrooms" which includes showers. I imagine the larger crew bunks might also have the fold away toilet, since they have the wall space to put one it (and that gives the captain an excuse to charge a little more for them, not just cuz their bigger). Another amenity Lincoln and I discussed was a modification in which each crew bunk has a sort of closet in one wall - a shower. Small, cramped, but probably with plenty of hot water, since there's a handy heat source (the ENGINE lol). Anyway, just thought I'd bring that up.
Now, there's one more but it's JUST the upper level of the cargo bay, and I haven't made the adjustments to it yet. It's not as important, I think it can wait for now.
Bunks are assigned, but can be changed, they're mostly my assumptions + lincoln's specifications.

Also - I know I specifically said Shade was by the stairs near the door, but Ainsley didn't specify exactly which set she came down, I don't care whether it's the central one, or the one by the door. Just looking to interact, mostly. Seemed like a good chance.

Mei is really hoping that the Alliance doesn't ask too many questions. After all, she's an enemy soldier.
There's something that I'd like to get out there - one issue I have had with this RP. I viewed this first part of the RP as a prelude, the main purpose of which was the assembly of our crew. Consequently, our priority during said prelude should be to get everyone on the ship and staying on board.
Instead, it seemed as if the priority was on RPing our characters - which should be the priority most of the time, but not at the expense of having them not get on board. Nathan's outright rejection of Mei is an example of this - it might have been the most likely thing Nathan would have done, but it didn't help us with the RP. I was actually thankful for the explosion, as it gave me a reason for Mei to not simply walk away.
My point is this. It seems to me that the last part of the assembly of the crew will be dealing with the boarding party. It might make sense for someone to ask the Alliance to take Mei off the ship for them, since she is neither crew nor passenger. I do have a plan for how to deal with the Alliance, but it depends on the crew not trying to kick Mei off the ship. So I would really appreciate it if nobody tried.
This is only going to last until Mei (and anyone else in her position) joins the crew. After that, RP will be our sole focus.
P.S. Any word on a custom sig? I did request one.

I have no influence on decisions, and neither does Dale have that power. But I wouldnt, wont and couldnt anyhow.
But about the getting knocked back thing-
sure it was a difficulty, but from my POV it looked like defiant was asking for lemonade when he handed you those lemons. Or maybe a lemon lime bitters, or something more unique. In either case, I expect, we as writers will all have to look at the glass half full on many occassions with this RPG and overcome dramatically bad situations.
Its all about the drama of epic come-backs :D

I understand your point Mei, but I don't think that was the purpose at all. It was more to get an outside of the box view and reaction, instead of an here's my shpeal, welcome aboard!

I'll post again sometime tomorrow. I'd like to give Nathan time to post a bit. We'll still be going slowly until he's been written off. I'm not going to write his character for him.
The announcement I was going to make on Friday will be done tomorrow night(monday), barring another setback. I've been using most of my free time getting it ready.

To be honest, I'm fairly new to this sort of freeform RP. Most of my play-by-post RPing to date has been within the context of a game like Dungeons & Dragons.
