I use gorram and shiny. Other than those, I tend to work in phrases where they'll be most appropriate. I've used the chain of command thing, special hell, and occasionally curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal. I like the rare moments when I get to use this must be what going mad feels like.

Also, I can kill you with my brain.

i must say shiny a lot now. someone at work ask me if that's the new buzz word. i didn't have time to explain so i just said it was my new buzz word. it would be funny if she starts using it never really knowing why.

i actually think of fireflygasms all the time but i try to pick my audience. strange stares can be embarrassing.

Creepifying and corpsified are the two I am most in love with, although I haven't gotten the opportunity to use the second one ... much.

I've 'tried on' (as Dr. Evil would say) some of the Chinese swears, but since half my class is some flavour of Chinese, this has garnered some snickers, although they say my pronunciation is fine. I'm not entirely comfortable swearing in front of my class ... there's a certain point where admin might decide to have a little chat about it.

I wish. Aside from the occasional use of 'Shiny' online, I haven't been able to work up any changes into my speech. I'd like to talk like Captain Mal, pepper my speech with Gorram or chinese swear words, or just add that certain twang to the way I speak.

It's just that it never comes out that way. When I speak, none of it comes to mind. It's like I don't actually control what I say, I just send off a memo of the general gist to some other department of my brain and it composes something for my mouth.

I find myself using "and the like" and "not so much" quite a bit now and it's not really volentary it just comes out. I could force myself to stop if I really wanted to, but do I really want to? Not so much.

And the other day I went camping with a friend of mine and was banging tent pegs into some really hard soil with a hammer and banged my thumb. And said Gorerammit! He watches Firefly too and laughed and changed the subject to Firefly he figured I said it on purpose the thing is I didn't.

Yes Firefly can be dangerous to ones vocabulary and the like if your not carefull.

Absolutely. I'm still working on making it without-thinking, but it's coming. Surprisingly, I don't use 'shiny'. I don't mean to - I really want[/] to, but I just haven't. I'll have to get working on that.

O boy, now that you mention it, I do say "Shiny", "Ruttin", "Dong Ma", "I'd take that as a kindness" occasionally. I probly would say "Gorramit" but Im not entirely sure what it means, i mean obviously it means goddammit, but call me crazy I feel I need more info on that one. All in all Firefly has affected my speech, I believe a show like this and with any great show that one becomes addicted to, has a way of leaving a mark on your personality in some form!

Most definitely. Gorram and gorrammit mostly, to the point where even non-fans (or "the soon-to-be converted" as I like to call them) don't even notice anymore. Shiny pops up a bit. And depending on how long it's been since I watched some episodes, my grammar starts to decline a bit. I do say "ain't" a lot more when I've been watchin' the show.
