What comic/game/book do you think should be made into a movie?

I thought the 1984 version of 1984 was pretty good for the most part. Just the ending soured me some. Sadly, I think any other telling of the story would be farther off the mark.

I'm right there with you. I hope to work as a filmmaker some day, and I've long since decided that Midnight Nation might have to be a pet project of mine if I have the chance. As far as other comics to get the film treatment, I'd love to see Marvel's Deadpool in his own movie. It's pretty much ready-made; humor (both light and dark) and action. It'd be fun and fantastic. Audiences tend to enjoy wisecracking heroes (ala Will Smith), and that's what Deadpool's all about.

I'd also like to see a feature version of DC's miniseries Kingdom Come, but I think that's a project that may never happen.

I always thought Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising was good. I think it was one of the last good books written by him... Well The Sum of All Fears was a ok book and an ok movie with a bad lead actor.

Well this book is a bit long to be turned in to a Motion Picture but a TV mini Series would be good. Just correct some of the tech errors, don't try to squeese in Jack Ryan and it will be a fantastic movie/mini series.

I agree, it was one of the best comics I've read this past year (I only got in the last year). For those who aren't aware, it's 12 issues, a single story from beginning to end, non-superhero in nature (though supernatural), all collected into a big book now for easy purchase, written by the creator of Babylon 5, with great art. Check it out if any of that sounds interesting.

Actually, Deadpool is being made into a movie, from what I hear. Ryan Renolds (sp), who co-starred with Nathan Fillion on Two Guys and a Girl (and will soon be in Blade 3), will be playing the title character. I can see it. They're both funny Canadians with the same letters in their first and last name (Ryan Renolds as Wade Wilson has an odd ring to it.)

I've only read the Gail Simone issue of Deadpool, but I did like that, so I might give the movie a try.

I haven't gotten around to reading Kingdom Come, but I'm not too big on DC in general. From what I understand of it, yeah, doesn't look like it'd be too easy, except perhaps as a animated movie on TV or something.

Books:

I'd like to see a film version of Don Quixote - a good version though, not some spit up, crunched up hollywood .

I think a film version of the His Dark Materials trilogy (Phillip Pullman) would be good - if you know, done correctly, not just some hollywood drivel.

Games:

Hmm... Besides obvious (FF Series) I'd say Planescape: Torment - such a fantastic story, with some just - words cannot describe it's greatness.

Also good, Metal Gear Solid 2 would be a good film - hell, it practically is a film.

'Silent Hill' on the Playstation and PS2 done properly as a movie would be mind blowing. The only game series that has scared the heck out of me. Apparently it's being optioned as a movie but I reckon it will be the same anti climax that Resident Evil was on the big screen,

Comic book wise. 'Y the last Man' or 'Fables' would be great as movies. I would love to see Mark Waid's 'Empire' made but it would come over better as a tv mini series. Oh and anything Warren Ellis has written would be amazing on the big screen.

I never got around to playing Planescape Torment, but a movie set in the Planecape 'universe' would be awesome. That was probably my favorite tabletop D&D settings.
