So very few notable days have fallen since I have started posting here. Most are more notorious than notable. Happy ones like the birth of nieces and nephews and of course getting married are the only good ones I can think of.

Not sure where to file this day.

I've been terminated. Near to a decade of service was ended due to my insubordination towards a micromanaging control freak two tiers above me on the chain of command. Of course I have reasons, not excuses for my lack of cooperation with certain directives. And my parting was very civil. No tears, a ton of smiles, and I didn't tell her to eat a dick. I may or may not be filing a grievance. But that is tomorrow.

Tonight is time for beers!

firsties? yep firsties.

*blinks*
Ummm...
1. congratulations on your freedom (sucky timing as it might be in the job market). Getting away from crazies and insanities is always a good thing in my book.

2. WTF?! I thought they needed to give 2 weeks notice at least for this kind of shyte. ('course I should be one to talk...gave 'em less than a day to find out that I wasn't coming back.)

3. Wishing you luck and energy in finding a job.

I have been out of work since the end of October, and there is not much out that requires my skills. I suspect I better start learning the phrase, "Do you want fries with that". Of course that may not be so easy to get, either.

Thanks 'Neko

I can do pretty much anything. No mind digging ditches, cutting weeds, or sweeping streets.

Wait, machines do all that. Shit...

I have all manner of skills, some less marketable than others, and a few very marketable but not worth the risk. Apparently I am recommended for rehire to with the tribe, but only after a year and only if I am crazy enough to consider another job with them. I am way too pleasant and controlled to have told the bosses boss to eat a dick.

Yeah, I was "terminated" in the absence of my actual supervisor.

Beer run!

Also he was terminated for something he was never written up for before, without notice or warning, and basically because his boss's boss was in snit because her weekend was interrupted and not just his due to an emergency. She has disliked him for years, she just finally got her chance, using the smallest sliver of a made up excuse ( claims she told him not to do something and he did it, but I was there for their phone conversations and she never told him not to do that) to get rid of the one person who will stand up to her when she's wrong....( she isn't a fan of being wrong)

Buy Yay now he can stay home for a few days with me on summer break :)

Ouch and I was upset cause I'm feeling sick. Sounds like NVG definitely wins the shitty day award. What is it with crappy people in leadership positions? How do they even get there in the first place is what I want to know?

My manager is supposed to be trying to clear off some of my workload so we can prepare for a big transition for next year. Currently that process is going in reverse. She wants to get rid of another person and give me like a 3rd of their work. Yesterday I got another pile of work dumped on me. This isn't even a hard concept to figure out. More work does not equal less work.

We were supposed to have a meeting today and I called her (since I'm not going into work all sick) and she didn't answer and hasn't returned my call even with a voice message. 15 minutes and waiting. Argh

HUGS Zeek.. I'm not sure I think people like that get promoted because they haven't done anything they can be terminated for and each manager doesn't want them so they get kicked up the line so it can be " someone else's problem"
Sorry you're sick sweety... is it flu or something worse?

Not sure. Achy head, sore throat, very minor cough. Other than that I'm functional.

Ouch.. seems like it's a sucky day for everyone :[

-hugs to all that want-

I always thought people like that got promoted because a) they work hard to be promoted so they can make other people's lives hell, and b) they suck up to their higher ups so they can get promoted..
