There are several boards where Firefly and Jericho fans hang out, and some of those places don't have the "super voters", and many folks at those sites probably don't even know such heavy voters exist. The proxy IP techniqe is time consuming, and I only have time to get out about a hundred votes a day. There were several Broawncoats who were each spending hours a day getting out over a thousand votes. From the middle of May, until about a week ago, it was pretty insane. Looks like our heavy hitters tired out before theirs did (although the snide remarks directed towards our heavy voters didn't help morale much.)

Browncoats Disappear, With Star Wars Taking First Place

At the Stargate site ( http://stargate-news.com/sci-fi-poll-best-in-science-fiction.html) we are at second place with 35.1 (39.2 yesterday) percent today, and 1485 votes, for the best SciFi movie. Browncoats come up with a few dozen votes a day, compared to a few hundred from the Red Dwarf fans. .

If you turn off cookies on your browser, when you go to TVTally, you can vote up to three (used to be six) times (and for more than one show, or all for one show). You can also vote more than once in six hours (unpredictable, tends to happen early in the day, and after 6 PM). Some consider this cheating, some don't. Either you're a cookie monster, or you ain't. Or not. Look at the other posts on this board. Talk of charity fundraisers, efforts to spread the word about the BDS and the BDM, and sharing of everything from what BDH actors are doing now to the little details of our own lives - the fans.

So the fact that this community has chosen not to stoop to cheating to win largely meaningless internet polls just because others do so is not pathetic. It's just a reflection of what's truly important.

We can (and will) keep voting, since it helps spread the word, but proving we have better hackers than the next fansite doesn't win us or the BDS/BDM any friends.

(Stated with all due respect, Suasor. What you're doing to maintain this thread requires a great deal of effort and patience, and I truly thank you for doing so.)

Lets see. You'll take the benefit of all those using proxies (afterall there votes dont disappear) but then go on to say we dont cheat.

Isnt that the classic definition of a hypocrite.

TVtally is meant to be one person one vote, but you yourself vote more than once, but if people vote more than you they are hackers. THe classic definition of a Major Hypocrite.

You dont have to put down what your incapable of understanding you know. Based on your "Hacker" statement you obviously dont know much about computers or even what hacking is. So I'm sure people can teach you how to use proxies (no hacking involved). Browncoats are a helpful bunch, you'll discover this once you become one, you've still got a long way to go unfortunately.

What does it matter.

If some want to spend the time and effort to use proxy servers let them.
If some only want to cheat a certain way let them.
If some want to live with the delusion that there is no cheating let them.

The important thing is to vote.

So One and all lets put our energy into Voting.
