And so the rumors start.

This is just wrong. I'm pretty sure she can't even act, and after Transformers 3 (which will probably get made, which I don't mind cause it's a fun movie, if nothing else) no one will ever care about her again.

I think Megan Fox, when she washes up and such, looks kickin' hot. Do I think she'd make a good Buffy ?
HELL to the no!
Attractive - but damn.... she's a moron. Slayers are cute, sexy, deadly AND smart.
Least in my book they are.

Isn't she like in every casting rumor for every tough, hot female known to man?
I dunno if she can act or not, as I have not seen her in anything else other than Transformers (and it's a Michael Bay film, can you really judge an actor's caliber in a Michael Bay Film? Really?). I will say she's hot as hell, as for acting? Dunno. (Her fiance, Brian Austin Green, is one helluva actor though) So I can't pass judgement.
I said I was all for the Buffy remake, as it would not tarnish the original TV Series (I would be pissed if they tried to boil that down to a movie minus Joss) and would only touch the previously mutiliated flick that Joss had no invlovement in beyond the script he sold. However upon hearing that it's being remade by the morons that f***ed up the original, I'm not backing this pile of go-se waiting to happen.

Now THAT's what I'm talkin' 'bout!
Honestly, if someone else wants to take a crack at a Buffy movie, I'm all for it. But NOT the dolts who ruined it the first time out! It's like someone giving Elaine May another crack at making Ishtar... "Okay, I know it was rubbish the first time, but I think I know what I did wrong, and now I can fix it!" Nyuh-uh.
Megan Fox as Buffy? I dunno. She's pretty, but I have no idea whether she can even act.

If they're doing a remake, don't they need a believable High School Freshman? Someone about 15-16 years old?
This is one of my biggest pet peeves. Casting a 20 something to play a mid-teen.
Sure it's illegal to film an actual 15 year-old doing things that you have to be 18 (cigarettes, nudity) or 21 (alcohol) to do. So don't do them. Imply them if you must, make use of your cinematographic skills (they embrace, a bit of kissing, the door gets kicked shut, cut to them with bed-head, her wearing his shirt...). The story line is questionable if you need a topless chain-smoking drunk to make it work.
Yes, you'll likely have to use unknown persons, not known mega-stars.
Get over it. This is the story you have chosen to tell, and these are it's requirements.

Megan Fox shouldn't even get acting credit. She should be listed under set decoration!

I'd given some thought to movin' off the edge -- not an ideal location -- thinkin' a place in the middle.

Actually, the reason they get older actors to play young characters is that there are certain hours young actors can work. Plus, they have to have tutors and things that older actors don't need.

Fine, fine. Short hours, tutors, clothing stays on, no smoking, no drinking, and whatever other child labor laws apply.
The story still calls for a 15 year old lead, and a high school aged cast with a few adults as teachers & parents. Get them. It will be nice to see children played by children. It would actually add to the believability of the entire movie.
Buffy & the Scooby gang were great & all, but I never really believed that they were in high school.

Far more believable than the "kids" from 90210 ( original )
Andrea looks pretty much the same now as she did then.

Well, SMG was only 19 or 20 when the show started, so she still looked pretty much like a teenager.
