Death penalty for expired tags. Deputy gets suspended 1 day with pay.

Now you know why all cops within 100 miles are required to attend funerals for cops, to scare the celebrations away.

Good case to enforce the Constitutionally guaranteed God-given right to travel without an internal passport extorted at gunpoint by police state death squads.

Strange damn day...

Didn't we JUST go through this with some NFL players gramma ?

I'm sorry, but if I have a genuine medical emergency in my back seat, I am NOT stoppin till I am either at the emergency room entrance, or till my vehicle is thoroughly disabled.

Of course, this doesn't at all explain what happened en route back to my place with a load of groceries bout an hour ago.

Just shelled out for new tags (*hiss*) insurance is up to date and I wasn't even crackin the speed limit cause it's still a little nasty out there, and it's gonna snow some MORE tonight, oh joy oh joy...

Enter one local PD cruiser - not the jurisidiction here I dislike so much, but a neighboring one - he rolls up behind me, the only car on the road at that point cause I took the service drive instead of the highway cause people around here can't drive for shit in poor conditions.

He kicks his lights on, blips the siren, I punch on the hazards and keep rollin, cause to hell if imma pull over into that mess in some deserted area - he can damn well wait two minutes till we get to the K-mart parking lot and it's CCTV cameras, not to mention lights and witnesses.

I am watchin the rearview in case he takes issue with that, and see him pull up his screen and run my plates, which is gonna tell him exactly nothin, or so I thought.

And he STOPS, outright stops right there, turns his damn lights off, does a U-turn and goes AWAY.
WTF ?!

Maybe he had an important call, maybe he hadda take a leak or heard about a donut sale, I dunno...

But that's seriously all manner of creepifyin if the local law enforcement is afraid to give me a damn ticket cause of what I did to some of em not too long ago.

Not that imma complain about it, hell, I might even exploit it a little, but seriously, it bothers me, I dunno why.

It cannot be said enough, those who do not learn from history, are doomed to endlessly repeat it

Ah, they were lookin for a tan oldsmobile aurora, which admittedly does very much like an alero, hell, they're almost the same car.

I didn't bitch, they called me early this afternoon to give me a headsup and by pure dumb luck, I *did* happen to know where the vehicle in question was.

Kinda strange how two police depts right next to each others jurisdiction can be so radically different in professionalism - we really do need better standards.
