So, you're just looking for reasons to complain about the guy?
Prior actors, prior Bonds... same difference. New guy, new Bond.
I would have liked to see Owen in the role as well, but I like Craig. Doesn't mean I'm letting things slide because of it - just means I'm not actively looking for something to complain about.
And, uh... I've never seen the Prisoner.

ANYWAY....I watched QOS again last night & liked it even more the second time. This leads me to believe that I'd finally appreciate CR.

I went out today tooling around as usual. Found a man's wallet returned it so feeling good about myself I said self treat yourself to the new 007 dvd. I have to have it for my collection. I luv the scene where M chews out 007. She really lets him have it. Last week listening on Mike'sRadioNet.com to an English radio station they had a discussion about the Bond movies. So PC emailed them who was the first Bond Girl which everybody picks Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, wrong answer. The thing is Bond flicks go with the time. Moore was perfect for the 70s. I feel Connery should have made OHMSS then Moore should have made DAF then stopped at MR. Bronson should have made them up to now. 007 in the 80's was mot cutting it. Now I really like the story lines in the new ones. I think the conspiracy factor is quite popular. Craig will make 2 more Bond flicks then someone new will come in to keep it fresh.

I'm glad you liked QoS, but I'm a Sean Connery man from way back. From Russia, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice among my favs.
For me SC is the quintessential Bond bar none.
Having said that, I really like Graig as the New Bond and, although CR was so-so for me, I really liked QoS. But I really do miss the Bond gadgets. In the first couple of Bond's he would use whatever household equipment to fend off would-be baddies, which I thought was cool.
The best fight, and most memorable for me, was the brawl with Odd Job in Goldfinger. Graig does a credible job with the material he's got to work with and I like his "relationship" with M. BTW I think Madame Dench makes for a great M. She gives the movie the gravitas needed for our much grittier Bond. I agree that it's better than all the Roger Moore Bond movies (no comparison).

Malcolm Reynolds grew into a hard fellah in Serenity, much like the QoS Bond became a hard fellah. Though the parallel I'm trying to draw here is entirely coincidental, can't we accept the need to make each of these characters feel real?
I think that there's a university course, or several courses, worthy of examining the juxtapositions of Mal/Inara and Bond/Vesper. Or, we could examine the character of Malcolm Reynolds as a future low-rent Bond; paying particular attention to the psychology inherent in Mal not "getting" the girl, where Bond always does, but never for a very long time. The possibilities are... possible, lol!
Anything keeping the Serenifly 'verse current in the public or academic eye is fine by me, yep.
