I'm tempted, but Casino Royale just barely held my interest...

I saw it at the cinema. I thought it was pretty good, despite having half a dozen endings.

..No. Don't even bother. Things get blowed up pretty good, but make no mistake this is about as far from Bond as you can get. I won't be seeing another Daniel Craig Bond film.

If you like the Bourne movies, then I'd see this b/c they got some of the guys who worked on Bourne to help with the actions scenes.
I seriously walked out of the theater thinking I had just seen Quantum of Bourne and was wondering when the third movie, The Bond Ultimatum, would be released.

I'm in the same boat. I refused to pay for a theater ticket this time. I'll probably just wait for it to hit cable.

I liked it a lot actually and i think if you liked casino royale then you would like it. But you have to face it that the interest for a campy sean connery bond movie isn't there. The trend theses days is the bang-bang-shoot-em-up-with-a-cool-story andt that's what the new bonds are about...well at least the cool story part. Personally, I'm not so much a fan of the old bonds (sorry classic bond fans), they're good in a sense but they're just not my taste. But It'd definately give Quantum of Solace a try.

I love a little bit of camp, but there comes a point in a franchise where the line is crossed into the script writers just not CARING about the material.
It happened to Batman, and that's why the franchise had to be rebooted, and that's what happened to Bond. Eventually, both franchises will be seen as too serious (especially with the market becoming oversaturated as it is), and the humour will come back.
The Ian Fleming books had very little camp in them, though.

I liked it a lot and thought it followed on well from Casino Royale and left enough to lead into the next one. Craig makes a great (although different) Bond.
But both Craig movies are far from the older Bond movies and are definitely nearer the Bourne movies in style.
There are no quick quips or one liners when he dispatches a baddie. These days he is a much colder and darker figure.
And IMO it was needed. The classic Bonds had and have their place and will always remain that way but the franchise wouldn't have survived had it carried on that way.
My only real gripe is that they are a bit too close to Bourne.
The fact that Casino only just held your interest I'd be tempted to tell you to lay off it and watch it when it's free. But if there's nothing else to rent....
