Some women in the film were viewed as sex objects, but also much more than that, that's just one part of the character. IMO, the only woman to be viewed as a sex object was Sally Jupiter (Laurie's mom), who chose to be viewed that way. True, Laurie took part in the biggest sex scene in the movie, but other than those times I never really got the feeling she was being viewed as something for sex.

Dr. Manhattan's reasoning for leaving his last girlfriend for Laurie was more than just because she was younger, I believe his line in the film was something like "She was getting noticeably older, while I stayed the same". He flet her moving along, while it felt like he was standing still, given time I think he would've done the same to Laurie.

As for the action, there wasn't really all that much, not enough to be classified as a "guy movie". I say it like that because I don't really like the sterotypes like "guy movie" or "chick flick".

And ugh you like Sarah Conner Chronicles CK? I can't stand it. I guess I just can't get past some of the suspension of disbelief. Like "oh cameron was in an explosion that altered her programming." What now? You're telling me the bits were altered and just magically ended up in a configuration that was not only a running program but an extremely sophisticated one? And then how did they fix it? John scraped a chip with a screwdriver and shoved it back in. Darn annoying code dust getting in the way. Come on!

In the first Season Sarah always tried to do her "badass voice over" junk that drove me nuts too. "Chess is a game of total annihilation". Since effing when? It's in fact a game where you trap the king and don't even kill him much less all the rest of the pieces. Eff you crappy writers!!!

There's way too much time travel going on in the show too. In the movies it feels like time travel is difficult or expensive. Something that can only be used for the most important of tasks. In the show they're sending terminators back for all sorts of little tasks. If they can send that many back then how is John not dead yet? Especially with the level of detail these terminators have. They come back through time looking like some nobody who apparently they know where they worked and what they looked like. In the original terminator all arnold had a was a name and he had to go through a phone book to find Sarah. wtf changed?

Bah I've ranted about that show a lot. I gave up on it mid-season 2. I sorta hope it dies so Summer can go find something better to work on.

haven't seen watchmen. the bro liked it, and the bf expressed an interest in seeing it. i'm still on the fence cuz it just looked corny ><;; specially with the costumes n such.

Quiet weekend huh?

Well my team won TX trivia lol My contribution was alerting the host when she forgot to deduct points from other teams when they got answers wrong. We only got 1 negative point but we got way more answers wrong than that

However, the weekend took a downturn Sunday when my kitty got all sick. She threw up 5 times before noon. She started getting a little more active by the end of the day and this morning I saw her actually eat a little. So, I thought she was on the mend til she just threw up a little while ago. As soon as I get a break from work I'm going to call the vet and see if I can run her in.

aaaw, she didn't eat chocolate did she? cuz thats what my dog was doing when he got into a bag of chocolate >< threw up non stop for hours, even when he tried to ingest some normal stuff.
