OK that's what I'll do. I know NV has really been looking forward to it and from the trailers I thought it looked cool, but I definitely can't stay if bad things happen to kids and animals...

Actually I told one of my friends to skip it and she's far from feint of heart. I also told my brother and my mom to skip it (she's easily influenced by people telling her the name of a movie to see). It's a really really really guy movie IMO. Well to add to this, I typically have fairly male tastes in entertainment. 300 is one of my all time favorite movies, I'd rather watch UFC than something fashion/home/celebrity oriented, and I do make video games for a living after all, lol. There was a list on Digg not too long ago with the top 10 most anticipated guy movies of 2009, and I'm crazy excited about all of them. But I still hated Watchmen, and so did my husband, to whom all of the above also applies, but is also, you know, an actual guy. I also have a couple of girlfriends in the game industry who loved Watchmen, so go figure.

I don't see how that makes it a "guy movie". And I'm curious, what do you mean by male attitude in massive quantities?

I don't know anyone who loved it. Of the 5 guys who went to see it one disliked it and the rest of us thought it was good but not great. The only woman I know who saw it, beside CK, didn't like it either.
On the plus side though that chick was hot, right?

Gone all day and look what happens. Not reading too much but I kinda guessed they stylized violence and hype couldn't cover for an abridged story and lack of better planning.
Then again I loved Sin City even after hearing it would be crap simply because of the same things.

The book was already pretty violent itself. Did they amp it up a bit for the film, yeah, but not much though. Some scenes I'd say they toned it down.
And as for the story, it's pretty much all there, though changed in spots. I'd have to say that this was one of the most faithful adaptations of a graphic novel I've ever seen. Some of the shots look as though they were lifted directly from panels of the book.

So, what do you guys think about terminator salvation? I was looking forward to it, but now the preview before Watchmen sorta has me disappointed. I'm not sure if I like the idea of the hybrid terminator thing that's our "last hope" or whatever.

I didn't see the preview (didn't run with Watchmen when I saw it, wonder why that was), but I'm both excited about it and worried about it. I really liked Terminator 3, and The Sarah Connor Chronicles continues to really really impress me (especially when it comes to the AI and robotics stuff, and this is coming from someone who has worked on cutting-edge DARPA funded AI), so I'm actually kind of worried that it won't live up. It's Christian Bale, so I can't see how it'll possibly suck, but I'm still worried.

LOL Zeek I think movies like SIn City and Alien V Predator are good valentine's movies. I figure a movie without explosions, decapitation, and gore is a movie wasted.so Im not typically female in my movie viewing...I've never so much as clapped eyes on titanic or 90% of the chick flicks out there...
