That's not the point, unemployment is now at 8.1% in the US, the stockmarket is down 3,000 points since Barry took office. Barry and his whores in the press are trying to find a right-wing "BOOGEY MAN" to slap around. They do'nt want anyone with a huge audiance to tell people about Barry and his peeps eatting $100 prepound beef at whitehouse partys while alot of people in Chicago are eatting dog food.

Drinks Are On the (White) House
January 28, 2009 5:57 PM

Here's the list of President Obama's invited guests to the White House cocktail party tonight -- essentially the bipartisan bicameral leadership of the House and Senate.

Six House Democrats, six House Republicans, six Senate Democrats, six Senate Republicans. Their spouses are invited as well.

Hors d'œuvres -- chicken curry, wagyu steak -- will be served in addition to drinks.

President Obama, it should be noted, is not a particularly big drinker, though he has been known to enjoy a vodka martini time and again.

In addition to the congressional leaders below, several senior White House staffers will be in attendance, including press secretary Robert Gibbs, senior adviser David Axelrod, senior adviser Pete Rouse, and deputy chief of staff Mona Sutphen.

The party will come after the House passes the president's stimulus package with no Republican support, which could make for some interesting cocktail party chatter

Eight years, of Republican rule lead by Bush mismanaging our nation, and basically screwing up almost everything, and you Right-Wing freaks cheered him on all the way. Even after our economy began to crumble you Right-Wing freaks looked for ways to blame the decline of America on the Democrats and so-called liberals. You did this crap for 8 years.
Now we have another President, who's job is to basically clean up the mess that the Bush Administration, and to some extent Ronald Reagen created along with the 1st George Bush, and all I read in the newspapers is writing by many Right-Wing nutcases is that Obama is screwing up this country with his liberal ideas, and his liberal agenda. You thoughtless, visionless freaks have got a lot of nerve.

Every Republican, Ultra Conservative, and Evangelistic idiot, and Rush Limbaugh freak should be rounded up, put up against a wall, and tried for treason then executed. In our crumbling economy people need to come 1st, and you greedy bastards are STILL trying to make a profit at the expense of the small guy.

I am so ASHAMED of being an American right now.

Well, personally I think the new title fits better than the old.

Rapo is... Rapo. Lives in a world of his own, where the economy was on fire, throwing money at the rich was good for the economy, and the stock market was risk-free. Where the two most powerful men in the WHOLE WORLD.... two out-of-power Dems... somehow managed to bring down the whole world despite the best efforts of Republican majorities in Congress and a Republican President.

*snicker*

Rapo is deluded. He comes to the board not to listen, not to discuss, not to troll and not even to preach. He comes to the board to get his fix of dopamine, which is what happens when people with significant delusions can find SOME way to twist reality around to fit their delusions.

Seriously.

Rapo is as religious about Limbaugh as some peeps are about "god" (altho I find it disturbing on so many levels to hold that oxycontin-addicted, viagra-popping bloated pig of a windbag as any sort of deity. I mean, if you're gonna have a supreme being, at least make 'em powerful and good-looking.)

Quote:

In other words, religious people offer their time, money and resources into a system that does not provide an obvious adaptive advantage. Except in one way: satisfaction from a necessary delusion. That means dopamine activation. Dopamine is our evolved natural reward. To feel ascendant through reward dopamine means to feel more assertive, confident and even dominant over obstacles. May I remind you that all of animal life is reward-based - from yeast to humans. We are dopamine machines. ... University of Colorado at Colorado Springs psychologist Tom Pyszcynski advocates in his "terror management theory" that we need to delude ourselves to survive. Delusion is adaptive. Psychologist Cordelia Fine in her A Mind of its Own: How Your Mind Distorts and Deceives (W.W. Norton, 2006) is another case in point: her term for this behavior is our "deluded brain." ... In the wider perspective, to face an otherwise difficult and cruel life is just too real for most to face.

Rapo is, if nothing else, a terrified person.

Don't forget that dopamine is "the addiction chemical". It's what makes peeps come back for that "hit" over and over again, despite the fact that their entire lives are circling the drain.

The thing that makes delusion so resistant to correction by reality is that in delusions dopamine comes into play whenever the true believer manages to rationalize/ justify his delusion(s) DESPITE the overwhelming evidence against it. The whole learning mechanism
has been twisted into a self-perpetuating fantasy-land.

Nobody will get Rapo to change by arguing with him. In fact, that just plays into his dopamine addiction. I don't know whether its better to ignore him or to point and laugh. Right now, I'm at the pointing a laughing stage, altho I shake my head in sorrow.

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine.

You are so seriously fucked in the head you're not worth responding to, but I'll give it one parting shot. If you actually believe that all of the problems of the World are a result of the Bush administration you more delusional than most of the liberals here. We've gone over many times the origins of our problems that lead back to the Carter administration, not to mention the dot.com bubble, 911 etc. Did Bush just delay the inevitable, yes he did, but that's the best he could do given the hand he was dealt.

He, ummm, delayed it? By putting us three trillion in debt with an unnecessary pet-project war?
That had NO negative effect? It wasn't the last straw that started the ball rolling?
Ya mean, if he had put as much effort into fixing the mess before it got so bad as he did into enforcing a set of superseded UN resolutions, it would not have helped?

There is something to what you say, but the war spending probably actually stimulated the economy in the short term, but we are paying for it now. I've never argued that Bush did'nt spend to much, but given what he had to deal with he thought our only hope was to grow our way out of dept. Unfortunately he forgot that we were due for downturn in the business cycle, and that happen to correspond with our once every 15 year financial crisis. Usually it's the financial crisis leading us into recession, this time the downturn lead the financial crisis making it much worse than usual.

And you're only too happy to jump right down in the muck, as is JSF, proving that neither of you are any more mature or less naive, nor possessing anything approaching tact, education, manners, or knowledge. Quit trying to pretend that you're any better. At best, you're the right-wing version of PirateNews - all puffed-up rhetoric and paranoia. Instead of blaming the Jews, you blame "The Left". For EVERYTHING.

And the funny thing is, you don't even realize you're doing it. Funny AND sad, really.

Back to the musical donkey for a sec...

It seems so out of step with what I see most re-pubs, especially from here, are saying about Obama. Just recently they were more freaked about how much he was doing, with health care, economy, etc, "he's trying to do to much, he'll wreck the greatest country on the planet!" "We should let the markets sort themselves out!" "Some times you have to do nothing!"

Now he's doing nothing? So which is it?

Pizmo, you just haven't versed yourself well enough in RapSpeak™ yet; no matter WHAT Obama does, or doesn't do, it's THE WRONG THING! Why? Because he's a liberal. I mean Socialist. Or Muslim. Or black. Or only half white. Or something.

It's the wrong thing to do because he's doing it. Or NOT doing it, as the case may be. It's wrong because he's not them.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

Yer killin' me, Lapdog, you really are!

[sarcasm]Of course you're right - Saddam absolutely had WMD, and we found them spread all across Iraq. Well, the ones he didn't give to his best friend Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda. And the economy IS on fire - despite the fact that 95% of Americans pay no taxes whatsoever!

Yeah, you've been totally right, 100% of the time. [/sarcasm]

By the way, I personally debunked that bullshit claim of yours about taxes, while you continued to lie and INSIST that it was a "fact" (just another bullshit RapFact™ as it turns out) that NINETY-FIVE PERCENT OF AMERICANS PAY NO TAXES.

So to add to the list of things that we've debunked, let's add your claim that you've never lied; the claim that you've never been debunked is, in and of itself, a lie. Just one of many, many lies you've tried to spread around here.

You know, it should actually amuse me watching Rappy and his blatant sockpuppet descend into what frankly appears to be outright insanity...

But it doesn't - in fact it's kinda painful to watch a human beings psychological fragmentation right in front of me no matter that by preference, I would simply do them in as a threat to me for being so ignorantly willing to be an arm of tyranny themselves.

Watching the guys accellerating slide into madness is actually harsh enough that for my part I have been staying my hand recently despite the urge to grease the slope and speed the process - in fact, I really don't think there's much at this point anyone can do but simply not feed his own mental self-destruction - not that this will prevent it, but that kinda madness is somewhat contagious and can see some bit of it beginning to spread around here, which is not at all to our benefit.

So, me... I'm thinking quarantine.

I might have to watch this meltdown, but damned if I will participate, if I want someone out of my hair I really do prefer it quick and clean, yanno ?

Torture just ain't my style.

And as for JSF ?
Well, in order for it to be taken seriously, it'd have to have a brain, and it don't.

You know it's bad when you're having a conversation with an inanimate object cause no one else wants to talk to you, meh.

Of course, that all said, while I won't pour no more water in his little boat, be damned if imma toss him a life preserver either - he's called his own fate, I just want no part of it clinging to me, is all.

I tried most carefully to warn Rap about the direction he was taking. I repeatedly indicated that when you have to write off big chunks of reality to maintain an ideology, you're putting your mental state at risk. I warned him he might end up like PN.

Rap does what he does out of an emotional need. I think I have a pretty good idea what that need is - and the circumstance is not his fault - it's tragic, or at least unhappy. I wish I could help. But his need is so great that he will maintain his defenses at all costs. Even to the point of becoming seriously delusional ...

Hmmm... let's see. Just recently you said I was twisting my old tagline (Let's party like its 1929) to mean anything I wanted it to mean, that it wasn't AT ALL a prediction of the economic meltdown.
