But the GOP won't get it right either, and that's what pisses me off. They had their chance, got greedy, put their hands over their ears to block out the voices of those who AGREED with them, at first, and then started to act like Democrats - Lite. This little dance, the back and forth between bad and even much worse, continues between these two dandies, like some theatrical sword fight , up a spiral staircase. Up, and up, and around and around they go, never once taking time to figure out that, eventaully, the steps are going to end, and there won't be anything for them to stand on. Only open air, and a VERY long drop to the bottom.
Have you considered Anarchism, or at least Libertarianism, as an alternative yet ?
Here, have some of OUR kool-aid, it's maybe not as tasty as the other brands, but at least it's better for you!

Chris, there's no revisionism going on here. It's well documented, for those who aren't too scared to look it up for themselves.
Doubt me all you want, but you'll only end up looking the fool for it. Remember that "damned piece of paper " remark ? I'd have hoped you learned your lesson.
Seems not to be the case.
It is not those who use the term "Islamo-Fascism" who are sullying the name of Islam; it is the Islamo-Fascists. - Dennis Prager
A concern of the GOP is that the people aren't informed enough to understand their policies, while a fear of the Dems is that the people WILL understand.

Frem,
Politically speaking, I AM a Libertarian, though a conservative sort, and one who doesn't blindly follow the party platform in lock step fashion. I voted for Harry Browne in the 2000 election, btw.

Less then 8 years after Richard Nixon destroyed the Republican Party...we had Ronald Reagan and three consecutive Republican presidential terms. Watergate lost Republicans the moral, ethical, and organizational necessities to ever win again, yet we've had (not counting Ford) twenty years of Republican and 12 of Democrat.
It all comes around, people hate Barrack Obama...they just haven't remembered how much. Its not the man...he's a fine fellow...its the attitude, lack of experiance, and bad policies. People are sick of it. Come 2012...it'll all come around and in 2016 we'll be fighting Hillary.
Hero, I must disagree with your thesis. The past is no longer prologue when it comes to poilitics. It's a new world now. People are much more involved now due to cable and the internet. The Left is too well organized and funded for Republicans to overcome. They are out there marching, rallying, protesting, going door-to-door registering new voters, etc etc, but you never see Republicans doing anything like that. They have the media in their hip pocket. They have all the college campuses singing their songs too. They pander to all the different ethnic groups and cultural special interest groups. So tell me, how ya ever going to beat that? The numbers just are not there anymore for Republicans to win. The RNC is a total joke, even with Steele as the new leader. If he ever pops his head out from hiding behind the curtain, he will be attacked, marginalized, and called Uncle Tom. C'mon, you know that. When the NY Times can select John McCain (chief RINO traitor to the Party) as the Republican candidate for President, what else do you need to know? When you have "Conservative icons" like George Will and Bill Kristol bashing Sarah Palin in unison with their liberal counterparts in the media, what does that tell you? It tells me the Republicans are finished as a national party. And then of course there's a little thing called money. Obama raised nearly a billion dollars. You cannot defeat that. Also, the electoral map gives the Dems a big head start every election. When you can place NY, Calif, and Illinois "in the bank" even before the campaign begins, you have got a head start that is almost impossible to overcome. Republican Party needs to go away; go away and then come back with new leadership and a new philosophy.

Seems the Dems were more unified at wanting to give stuff away to the low rent crowd than saving the country from terrorist.

How many Americans died from terrorist attacks on U.S. soil while Clinton and Obama were in office? Seems they're much better at keeping us safe from "terrorist" (that's not the plural of terrorist, by the way, but I don't expect to ever be able to pound that through your thick neanderthal skull). I mean, if you look at the numbers, Bush has some 3000 bodies on his watch. How many for Clinton and Obama?
Got a number?
