the crew must have reached SERENITY by now.
it should be safe enough to transfer the medical results to them.

PATH begins uploading the crucial neuroscan data on OREO,
that he and the crew of TRANQUILITY acquired from the hospital on ARIEL,
to SERENITYS computer.
at the end of the data transfer he asks 3 questions:

"have you reached TRANQUILITY yet?
is she fixable?
are O2 and DOCKAT all right?"

= end transmission =

PATH turns to DR. WULFRIC BANE and asks:

"now, dr., what was in that briefcase of yours that you say OREO took from you during the escape?"

PATH waits for a response...

On the computer the screen reads:

a struggle ensues.
finally BANE is restrained and an interrogation begins.

PATHFINDER:
"BANE, what was in that briefcase?"

BANE:
"pain, darkness, death."

"coming out."
he leaves the room.
then, the real interrogator enters.
dressed in all black, he seems almost invisible
in the dimly lit room.
he never says a word.
he injects DR. BANE with a fluid.
BANE loses consciousness rapidly.
soon he begins to mumble.

BANE:
"case...files...records...results...TRANQUILITY...crew
...not...all...human...tests...experimental...cure...
cure...MIR...NO...MIRAN...NO...MIRANDA...miranda...
miranda...mir...an......da" [trails off]
