Not a movie, but a wonderful compilation of comedic awesomeness: Michael Nesmith's 'Dr Duck's Super Secret All Purpose Sauce,' a compilation of selections from Nez's mid-80's tv show, 'Television Parts.' Fantastically funny; next time you're on YouTube do a search on "World of Color" for a nice giggle.

Not to sound like a Monkees-obsessed Browncoat here, but I also wouldn't mind a freshly remastered version of their waaay underrated classic, "Head." A nice slice o'sixties right there, co-scripted by Jack Nicholson and featuring a bunch of music 'heavies' on the soundtrack (Neil Young, Ry Cooder, Leon Russell...) The dvd that's out of this looks like it was lifted straight from a fair-condition vhs tape - very sad :(

OH! And three old tv movies from the seventies (anyone here remember the ABC Movie of the Week?) One called "Bad Ronald" about a 'geek' boy who lives in secret behind the walls of his house and spies on the new family who moves in after his mom dies, "Don't Look in the Basement' where Kim Darby is plagued by nasty little gnomes who are trying to kill her, and one I can't remember the name of that had Barbara Eden pregnant with an alien baby. She acts weirder and weirder and then after she has the baby walks into a beam of light, followed by a bunch of other women holding babies.

TV was my babysitter, what can I say? ;)

TV movies of the week are practically non existent on dvd. I'd buy all the ones you mentioned in a heartbeat. Even If I haven't seen them. I'd also like to add....ummm, can't remember the name. It's about a girl who crash lands in the Amazon and has to survive with snakes, and bad things. It was from the 70's, and I just remember as a kid I was completely captivated by it.

Also, The Last Dinosaur, and The Ivory Ape with Jack Palance.

I'd love a Bill Forsyth box set on dvd. He has to be one of the most talented, and underrated directors of our time. Every film of his has a certain charm to it. Long story short..he makes smaller budget thought provoking films that you will remember after watching.

And I thought The Great Santini wasn't on DVD but I just found it. The best adaptation of a Pat Conroy novel about a tough as nails USMC pilot(Robert Duval) who literally terrorizes his sensitive oldest son and the rest of the family. And Blythe Danner as his wife (I see Mal's Ma a lot in her character).

I disagree. The best adaptation of a Pat Conroy novel to film is Conrack. Jon Voight gives his finest performance ever. Sadly it isn't on dvd.
