You mean it's not?

ETA: Webster's says it is:

Quote:

Reaver

Reav"er\, n. One who reaves. [Archaic]

Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, © 1996, 1998 MICRA, Inc.

So reave away!

Mike

Huh.

It is not those who use the term "Islamo-Fascism" who are sullying the name of Islam; it is the Islamo-Fascists. - Dennis Prager

I say it is too. I'm reading "Lady of Avalon" and reiver used as another word for a raiding Saxon.

It gorram is!
Scrabble word, as a concept has always bothered me. There you are sitting with "AFRICA" and someone else can put down "zo" Yah, it's short for zobo, a mongrel yak. Make sure to use it in a sentence. It's not to be confused with "Zo" which is a proper known.

It's gorram rules that make the world so gorram boring. :)

Reave is an Old English word mean to steal and often used in reference to pillaging. A related word is ravage.

Nihil est incertius vulgo, nihil obscurius voluntate hominum, nihil fallacius ratione tota comitiorum.

Nothing is more unpredictable than the mob, nothing more obscure than public opinion, nothing more deceptive than the whole political system.

-- Cicero
