So, reading the story, I have to ask, "Where's the scandal you refer to?" As far as I know, it's not illegal to TALK TO SOMEONE about who you'd like or not like in a Senate seat. The illegal part comes when you offer money, favors, or influence, or offer to accept same, in exchange for appointing "your guy" to the seat.

From what they're saying in the linked news article, it looks like Harry Reid simply told Blogojevich's office who he DIDN'T want to have that seat, because they'd be more vulnerable to a Republican opponent.

Sorry, but you're not likely to get any tears out of me. In a perfect world, Harry Reid *would* be involved, and would soon be long, long gone from the Senate, making room for someone with some balls. (This doesn't rule out a female taking his place, since most women in the Senate have more balls than the Nevada Milquetoast)
