It was this movie that made me decide to go all HD last weekend.
It rocks!!

Quote:Ledger was doing basically a colour version of Brandon Lee's 'Crow', though. But it worked well, I thought.

Seriously?? Okay, both have painted-on smiles. Other than that, can't think of anything simmilar.

Quote:C'mon Story, think of the Crow scene where Brandon tells that Jesus joke- that was Ledger's template right there! And not a bad one to have; The Crow was badass incarnate.

Still think it's a gross oversimplification, myself. And a disservice to Ledger.

There is some merit to Mr. isall's comparison. The scene where Lee laughs maniacally after being shot in the hand and his "I guess today wasn't a good day to be a bad guy" line spring to mind.
I realize most people haved rushed to elevate Ledger's performance to some mythical standard due to his untimely death. I also recognize what a fine job he did with the part. However, I still maintain that the best performance was by Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two Face. I could make a strong case that the entire movie revolves around his character.
On another note the film does look splendid on Blu-ray. The enlarged IMAX shots are a nice bonus.

I agree that the movie revolved around Dent, both in plot and theme, and while he did a solid job, I didn't feel he did anything a dozen other actors couldn't have. More charismatic that Bale, to be sure, but not a stand-out like Ledger.
