Dick Cheney Indicted by Texas Grand Jury

Texas grand jury indicts Cheney, Gonzales of crime

Nov 19, 2008

HOUSTON (Reuters) - A grand jury in South Texas indicted U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney and former attorney General Alberto Gonzales on Tuesday for "organized criminal activity" related to alleged abuse of inmates in private prisons.

The indictment has not been seen by a judge, who could dismiss it.

The grand jury in Willacy County, in the Rio Grande Valley near the U.S.-Mexico border, said Cheney is "profiteering from depriving human beings of their liberty," according to a copy of the indictment obtained by Reuters.

The indictment cites a "money trail" of Cheney's ownership in prison-related enterprises including the Vanguard Group (Wackenhut), which owns an interest in private prisons in south Texas.

Former attorney general Gonzales used his position to "stop the investigations as to the wrong doings" into assaults in county prisons, the indictment said.

Cheney's office declined comment. "We have not received any indictments. I can't comment on something we have not received," said Cheney's spokeswoman Megan Mitchell.

The indictment, overseen by county District Attorney Juan Guerra, cites the case of Gregorio De La Rosa, who died on April 26, 2001, inside a private prison in Willacy County.

The grand jury wrote it made its decision "with great sadness," but said they had no other choice but to indict Cheney and Gonzales "because we love our country."

Texas is the home state of U.S. President George W. Bush.

Bush and his Republican administration, which first took office in January 2001, leave the White House on January 20 after the November presidential elections won by Democrat Barack Obama. Gonzales was attorney general from 2005 to 2007.

Bush already pardoned 100s of felons, so guess what Cheney gets for Xmas?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_pardoned_by_George_W._Bush

But this indictment does prove that any politician can be arrested and idicted at any time. Impeachment not required.

Amerika is a nation of spineless cowards, as proven by millions of cops failing to make immediate arrest of Bush and Cheney, and and 100s of millions of slaves failing to make citizen's arrests of Bush and Cheney.

Obama's job is to obstruct justice by blocking prosecution of Bush and Cheney, as confessed by mobster Nancy Pelosi.

Cocaine dealer Obama is Bush's cousin, and already genocided 1,500 black Christians and arsoned 800 Christian churches, so of course he'll play the game.

I'll never understand the Left's hatred for Cheney. Maybe it's because he's not a girly man like Gore, and they can't think of anything of substance to hate him over.

Who knows ?

No mystery at all. Gore has whipped up this faux frenzy of Global Warming, all as a reaction to gain attention for himself, brought on by losing the 2000 election. It's his quest to kill *'ManBearPig , and nothing more. But his personal gratification will likely affect billions of people and cost the world trillions in wasted $$, uselessly spent in dealing w/ a false crisis , one which mankind has no more affect than would a single drop of water into the vast ocean.

Oh, and then there's the whole 'acting black ' thing, where Gore blasted Bush about the Iraq war. from behind the pulpit in a black church. If that's not shameless pandering, then nothing is.

* SouthPark reference. Google it, if you need to know.

or just watch this....

Yeah, the Judge tossed it. The Prosecutor had a hissy fit.

Oddly the Prosecutor managed to indict all of his political enemies, the ones who got him ousted.

As for Cheney. I suppose that if your blind trust buys a few shares of stock...that makes you guilty of murder if someone is accidently or negligently killed. No wonder the market is tanking.

Don't invest in Walmart...you could go to jail for assault if someone slips and falls on a wet floor (in winter).

The Bush-appointed judge did NOT reverse the indictment based on LAW or FACT, but because of an alleged technicality in how 2 of the grand jurors were sworn in. The prosecutor will be out of office next month, because that same judge conducted a vendetta against him during the 2008 primary. Otherwise this DA would appeal the bottom judge's opinion with easy victory. The new DA will of course fail to appeal, since the Demorat Party has already done a deal to refuse to indict or impeach the Bush-Cheney Gang.

Here's more facts on Cheney and Gonzalez crimes in prison. Cheney's indictment was for abuse in his private prisons, with murders and rapes. Other Texas juvenile prisons were busted running pedophile sexslave operations, with judges, politicians and cops lining up to have sex with the children. I'm not sure if Cheney owned those prisons, but Gonzalez and Bush Jr certainly had opportunity to obstruct justice.

WH/Justice Dept Coverup Pedophilia Cases

By Wayne Madsen, National Security Agency
3-27-7

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' 'loyal Bushie' U.S. Attorney for Western Texas covered up a major pedophile scandal with the connivance of the Justice Department's Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division.

Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, already under pressure for firing several U.S. Attorneys not considered "loyal Bushies," now faces another scandal. Albert Moskowitz, the Chief of the Criminal Section of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division, sent a letter dated September 27, 2005, to the Superintendent of the Texas Youth Commission's West Texas State School youth detention facility declining the prosecution of two of the Texas agency's employees -- Ray Brookins and John Hernandez -- for engaging in sexual molestation of 10 underage males incarcerated at the facility. The charges of molestation were originally brought by Texas Ranger Brian J. Burzynski. Earlier, in a July 28, 2005 letter, the Assistant US Attorney for West Texas, Bill Baumann, who works for US Attorney Johnny Sutton, a close friend of Gonzales, sent a letter to Burzynski declining federal prosecution in the pedophile case. In a decision that indicates that the Gonzales Justice Department defines child molestation in very narrow and high threshold terms, Baumann wrote that the young men at the West Texas facility that claimed they were raped by Brookins and Hernandez did not sustain "bodily injury" or "bodily pain." Baumann also defined aggravated sexual assault as resulting from a "perpetrator knowingly causing his victim to engage in a sexual act (which can include contact between the mouth and penis) by force against the victim or by threatening or placing the victim in fear that the victim (or any other person) will be subjected to death, serious bodily injury or kidnapping). Baumann stated, "I do not believe that sufficient evidence exists to support a charge that either Brookins or Hernandez used force to cause victims to engage in a sexual act."

Astonishingly, Baumann also writes that "none of the victims admit they consented to the sexual contact" with the juvenile facility employees. However, Baumann then suggests that the underage males came on to the prison guards and were "simply 'getting off' on the s

Show the incompetence.

Show where he sold out anyone.

Show how Cheney , and not Saddam , or Congress, or the President, is solely somehow responsible for the war in Iraq.

Please, make a case, and don't simply parrot empty claims from the Hate Cheney at all cost crowd.

But Signy, the following did not occur, according to his Highness AU:

1. manipulated intelligence and media so as to allege falsely a national security threat posed by Iraq

— provided a forged document dated October 2000, describing the sale of uranium to Iraq by Niger to the International Atomic Energy Commission and used that sale in the State of the Union Address

(TRUTH: CIA claimed that Bush knew beforehand that the document was bogus.)

— justified war against Iraq by providing false information, including weapons of mass destruction (WMD)

“Intelligence gathered by this and other governments leaves no doubt that the Iraq regime continues to possess and conceal some of the most lethal weapons ever devised." – Bush’s Address to the Nation (March 17, 2003)

"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction. There is no doubt he is amassing them to use against our friends, against our allies, and against us."

– Cheney’s Speech at Veterans of Foreign Wars 103rd National Convention (August 26, 2002)

(TRUTH: No WMD)

— misled the nation to believe Iraq was linked to the terrorist attacks of September 11th by Al-Qaeda

"He (Saddam Hussein) was a threat because he had used weapons of mass destruction against his own people. He was a threat because he was a sworn enemy to the United States of America, just like Al-Qaeda. He was a threat because he had terrorist connections — not only Al-Qaeda connections, but other connections to terrorist organizations." – Bush (New York Times 6-18-2004)

“If we’re successful in Iraq…we will have struck a major blow right at the heart of the base, if you will, the geographic base of the terrorists who have had us under the assault now for many years, but most especially on 9/11.” – Cheney (Meet The Press 9-14-2003)

(TRUTH: Commission Investigation Report on Sept. 11 terrorist attacks found no “collaborative relationship” between Iraq and the Al-Qaeda terrorists. The only relationship was that Al-Qaeda contacted Iraq for support but was rejected. Al-Qaeda terrorists didn’t operate in Iraq until after the invasion by the U.S. military forces.)

2. deceived the Congress on the rationale for a war of aggression against Iraq and miscarried the action of the Congress

(Violation of the Federal Anti-conspiracy Statute, 18 U.S.C. § 371 and The False Statements Accountability Act of 1996, 18 U.S.C. § 1001)

— submitted a false report and a letter (March 18, 2003) to the United States Congress on the reasons for launching a ‘pre-emptive attack’ on Iraq (Downing Street Memo, dated July 23, 2002, revealed that by the summer of 2002, President Bush had decided to launch a war against Iraq with the justification of terrorism and WMD based on ‘fixed’ facts and intelligence.)

(Violation of Article 1 Section 8)

(TRUTH: The Oct. 2002 resolution passed by the Congress gave Bush the authority “to take action in order to deter and prevent acts of international terrorism against the United States….” The resolution never granted the president authority to declare war on Iraq. In fact, only Congress can declare war for the United States.)

(Violation of Article II Section 3)

— shifted money allocated by Congress for the war in Afghanistan to the war in Iraq. (President can only execute the laws passed by Congress.)

3. ignoring the executive duty to protect the American citizens and the country

— failed as leaders in their dereliction of duty in preventing September 11 terrorist attacks

(Commission Investigation Report on September 11 terrorist attacks noted that the Bush Administration received heightened warnings of possible terrorist attacks in the summer of 2001 and a presidential daily briefing (August 6, 2001 – a month before September 11) regarding an imminent terrorist attack

Hey! No fair posting!!! I HAD the last word already!!!!

Your post is less than worthless in any case or do you NOT remember positing the idea that court decisions can be politically influenced, and thus a decision you view as 'incorrect' invalidates a court ruling or judgement in your eyes, therefore retaining your ability to be 'right' on any issue, no matter that facts, public and/or world opinion, or A COURT OF U.S. LAW may disagree with you.

This was never about the Vice President, the war, or intellegence. This is the Bush-haters hating Bush and it comes from the 2000 election.

The fact of the matter is everybody was wrong on this issue to some extent and the blame can go in a hundred different directions. Make take is that the intellegence failures on the WMD issue came from Iraq's very effective coverup of their impotence after the first Gulf War. The failure to anticipate and combat the insurgency came from the failure to deploy additional combat forces at the outset. Perhaps had the 4th ID come in through Turkey on Day 1 as originally planned rather then they'd have had the strength to do what needed to be done and the postwar plans would have been more effective.

The war remains one that needed to be fought. Imagine the oil crisis and the recent Isreali-Palestinian flare ups with Saddam still in there making trouble (and with five more years of rebuilding under his belt...this time with much higher oil revenues).

And remember the War on Terror is not just looking for a bunch of guys sitting in caves waiting to be killed. Al Queda continues to think strategically, as the recent attempt to orchestrate a war between India and Pakistan showed (Pakistan forced to redeploy their army to the India-Pakistan border...followed by a move to close the Kyber Pass which is the supply route for 80% of the supplies NATO and the US are moving into Afganistan).

No, I do not agree. In fact your assessment does not fit the evolving strategic situation that existed in 2001, 2003, 2006, and now. It should be noted that efforts to start a war between India and Pakistan to close American supply routes into Pakistan have been ongoing since November of 2001.
