The pondering Chrisisall
I'd say buy, myself. Funniest movie I've seen this year.

Some movies are poorly written, and only get worse after they go into production. This film nailed that aspect. Horrible mess.

I wouldn't go that far, at all. It wasn't great, but it tried to do something different with the genre, which I give them credit for.

I nominate Southland Tales for that award. And I *wanted* to like it!

Did you enjoy it?
I thought My Super Ex-Girlfriend was a better movie.
At least I smiled a few times when I watched that one.

The trouble is that a Will Smith has become a genre in itself and he seems unable to escape it. I Am Legend had a great ending, perfectly fitting but test audiences didn't like the idea that Will might be anything less than an ass-kicking hero so it was changed into a dumb action movie finale. The original script for Hancock was dark and edgy but again, that's not Will Smith so they rewrote it and thus the film feels horribly disjointed.
Now he wants to star in a remake of Oldboy. Sigh.

Yes, I did. It had it's flaws, but I did enjoy it for the most part. I couldn't even stand the commercials for My Super Ex-Girlfriend, so I never bothered.

Well, it looks as though we all may get a second chance to fathom the greatness that is Hancock, now that Hancock 2 is in the works...

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.
