Make sure they know about Firefly and Serenity on Blu-Ray.
If you don't have your own Blu-Ray DVD player, you could ask them to let you watch Firefly Blu-Ray over at their house. Maybe they'll watch it too. Shindig!

I've been pricing Blu-Ray players and the cheapest I've seen was an Insignia (house brand) at Best Buy for $229.00. I'm going to go look at it today as I ordered Firefly yesterday and pre-ordered Serenity in Blu-Ray from Amazon.
Also, I keep referring to Best Buy as Buy More. I must have Chuck on the brain.

A Best Buy employee told me that the Best Buy suits can't agree on how to handle the free "publicity" from Chuck. Some stores order employees to not uttter "Buy More" in front of customers, but it's all the rage in the break room, and some areas of the executive suite...

NCB, I wouldn't buy that Insignia model if I were you. There is no way to ever update the firmware, and that is something even the higher end models need frequently.
I've heard that the PS3 is the best Blu-Ray player yet tested, so I'm waiting for a before or after Christmas sale on that one for myself.

That's what my daughter, the gamer (she has a PS2, XBox 360 AND a Wii!), really wants me to get. Or I'd like a Sony or Samsung if possible. Come on Black Friday!
BTW Netflix begins streaming movies on the XBox on Wednesday. I don't think Serenity or Firefly are available yet.

Anybody know if the bluray Firefly has any of those cool suggestions we gave in another thread? What features does it have that the other did not?

It's basically just all the guys(Except Adam) in commentary for "Our Mrs. Reynolds", and a conversation between them over lunch(about 24 minutes). "War Stories" has commentary too. I don't know if that was in the original set. If not, that's another new feature.
Good stuff.

Great idea (any excuse for a party) Anonymous1.
Here's a link to one of the best, if not the best, reviews of the Firefly Blu-Ray set.

BTW Sony's PS3 is AWESOME! (no, I'm not a Sony Rep) But all the reviews I read pointed out that for shear speed, ease of use, power and adaptability (that whole firmware thing)....well it does cost $399 but it's well worth it (I also bought a 2 year waranty from BuyMore, er Best Buy). Getting my BDH on Wednesday. Batman series next week and Serenity later this month. SHINY!

I went out and got Firefly and Serenity on blueray, looks great, sound is awesome, but besides a new menu system there is no real difference between the DVD's, which I bought first.
Shiny! Let's be bad guys!
