Thing is, I think Castro's political beliefs, like yours, are flawed, which is why I make the comparison.

I'm sure most folks on Serenity would think me just fine. Kaylee would think I'm handsome, but clearly not in Simon's class. Jayne'd likely want to lift weights w/ me, Inara would appreciate the manners I show her, being raised proper and all 
Being more Mal like on the issue of religion, Book might steer clear on such issues, but I'd like to think we'd be on good terms otherwise. I'd be fascinated w/ Zoe and her life, her history, and her time in the military. Could learn a few tricks from her, if she'd oblige, that is. Cap might not see much in me, other than another useful set of hands, ready to do some heavy liftin', if need be. I'd likely be the focus of some of Wash's jokes, but I'd not get mad. We'd know it was just in good fun. You see, I'd be the only one on the ship who could talk dinosaurs w/ Wash, so we'd be cool.
Oh, and River ? She might very well kill me w/ her brain.
Other than that, I'd be right fine w/ the crew.

Fremmie, I'm HOPING that Obama will see his way clear to using Republicans in his administration, and that it will be seen as a truly bipartisan reaching out to HEAL the damned government, instead of keeping right on driving those wedges between us.
Watching Condie Rice speak about his election, I just had chills. It was like I was hearing her actual voice, her true feelings, for the first time ever. She couldn't stop smiling, her voice had lost all of its high-pitched uncertainty. It's usually a half-octave higher, and very shaky, and every "statement" ends on a rising note, making it more a question than an answer. When she spoke of Obama's victory, it was almost as if she just wanted to shout out, "Yeah, bitches - I voted for the muthafucka, and I'm damn glad I did it, too!"
There's much talk of keeping Robert Gates on as SecDef, bringing Colin Powell in as Education Secretary (bit of a shock, but I'm intrigued by the logic).
There's absolutely a huge portion of people who want some payback right now. We've had the shit kicked out of us for 8 years, and it's only natural to want to kick back. But the REAL test of a statesman will be whether he can forgive and move forward. If he can, the nation will come out far the stronger for it.

As I awoke that morning I could clearly see in my minds eye banners of the independents. Imagine to yourself: how would you feel at 1:05 in the clip if you suddenly beheld the green and black flag of the independent movement? How about if the words "Don't tread on me"at 1:22 became "Fight alliance aggression"? Perhaps you see a super-imposed map of the serenity valley sold at DragonCon at 1:37?
In my dream the title "John Adams" was replaced with "Independents".
