A popular women’s magazine in the UK recently featured an article entitled, Young, Single and Sterilized, in which women in their 20’s discussed why they had undergone an operation to prevent them from ever having children. The article is little more than PR for a “women’s charity” called Marie Stopes International, an organization that carries out abortions and sterilizations and was founded by a Nazi eugenicist who advocated compulsory sterilization of non-whites and “those of bad character”.
The story appears in a weekly magazine called Love It (click for PDF enlargement). One of the women featured in the article, Chloe, explains why she decided to have herself sterilized at the age of just 20.
“By the time I was 18, I knew I was never going to change. I couldn’t imagine letting something take over my body and then my whole life.”
“I couldn’t even look at a baby without feeling uncomfortable.”
Following the sterilization procedure, Chloe celebrates the fact that “I’ve got a lifetime of going out ahead of me now,” presumably meaning going out, getting mindlessly drunk and having sex with random strangers, as is British culture, while not having to worry about the risk of pregnancy or the responsibility of looking after a child.
Despite admitting that she has not told any of her family and not even her own mother about the sterilization, the article ends with Chloe boldly stating that it was, “the most sensible adult decision I’ll ever make.”

I disagree.
Not everyone wants children.
Not everyone SHOULD have children.
If someone firmly decides they are unwilling, or financially/emotionally incapable of raising a child and makes this choice as a personal matter, I have utterly no qualms against it, and in fact consider it a responsible act.
My only problem would be if it were decided FOR them by an outside element, which leads to some very bad places, and while we've stooped so low in our time, I'll fight tooth and claw at the mere thought of such any time the issue pops up.
I don't see such hue and outcry over a guy getting a vasectomy, do you ?
At it's root I would say this is more than a bit misogy..., oh hell I can't spell that, anti-femme, then ?
A woman is far, FAR more than a goddamn child factory, and any man who cannot see past that, ya shouldn't marry anyway.

Marie Stopes is a family planning clinic that has branches in a number of countries. There is nothing sinister about them. They offer a range of services , including contraception advice and distribution, vasectomies, mens and womens reproductive health and pregnancy termination.
Pretty similiar to other family planning clinics, which are about...family planning.
this story sounds pretty weird. I know that (in this country at least) doctors are pretty loathe to perform sterilisation on women or men when they haven't had children, and are under 40, without there being pretty good reason.

That's why it quite irks me when Sarah Palin says "I chose life" about her choice to give birth to a retarded baby - but would gladly take that choice away from every other woman in the country! The operative word in her sentence is that she CHOSE.

You failed to address the very point of this thread and the article at the top.
Which is this: People should not be forced to have babies.
If someone doesn't want to have a baby, that's their option.
Cannibalism and Fetal Tissue Medicine are separate issues.
It is rediculous for you to stand there and decry the 'forced sterilization' of your wife, and then argue for forced fertility. You can't have it just your way. This isn't Burger King. (creepy critter that he is)
If you are against 'Forced Sterilization' then you must also be against 'Forced Fertility' because the operative word is Forced.
